"Shit on You" also known by the clean versions as either "Sh*t on You" or "S*** on You", is a single by American rap group D12. It was their commercial debut single, released on December 5, 2000. It achieved moderate success by reaching the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart. It was not included on the American vinyl, CD, digital, or streaming editions of their 2001 debut studio album ''Devil's Night'', but was included as a bonus track on the cassette version, UK, European, and Australian releases, and on the deluxe version of Eminem's greatest hits album, '' Curtain Call: The Hits''. Background The song features references to John Candy, JonBenét Ramsey, Richard Pryor, Steve Stoute, Deebo and Peabo Bryson. Eminem's line referring to the band as "five more zany-actin' maniacs in action" hearkens back to his first album ''Infinite''. D12 (band)
D12 (an initialism for The Dirty Dozen) was an American hip hop collective from Detroit, Michigan. Formed in 1996, the group achieved mainstream success with its lineup of ''de facto'' leader Eminem, Proof, Bizarre, Mr. Porter, Kuniva and Swifty McVay. D12 had chart-topping albums in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia during the early 2000s. Bass Brothers is the professional name for the team of Mark and Jeff Bass, the Detroit producers responsible for helping Eminem with his early career and collaborating on much of his subsequent music. Before that, they worked with George Clinton. Tracks from those sessions ended up on the P-Funk All Stars album ''Dope Dogs''. Jeffrey Bass ( ; born May 16, 1961) is an American music producer from Detroit, Michigan, best known as one half of the Bass Brothers and for his work with Eminem. Career At age 16, Bass, along with 4 of his childhood friends formed Detroit-based R&B group ''Dreamboy''. In 1980, when Bass was 19 years old, ''Dreamboy'' was signed to Qwest Records, a record label created by Quincy Jones that same year. The group released their debut album in 1983, and a follow-up in 1984 before their contract expired and they were dropped from the label in 1985. Bass would eventually go on to co-produce the song "Lose Yourself," alongside Eminem which won the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 75th Academy Awards. Comerica Park is a baseball stadium located in Downtown Detroit. It has been the home of Major League Baseball's Detroit Tigers since 2000, when the team left Tiger Stadium. Michigan Central Station (also known as Michigan Central Depot or MCS) is the historic former main intercity passenger rail station in Detroit, Michigan. Built for the Michigan Central Railroad, it replaced the original depot in downtown Detroit, which was shuttered after a major fire on December 26, 1913, forcing the still unfinished station into early service. The Fox Theatre is a performing arts center located at 2211 Woodward Avenue in Downtown Detroit, Michigan, near the Grand Circus Park Historic District. Ryan Daniel Montgomery, known professionally as Royce da 5'9" (or simply Royce 5'9"), is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer.
