The Shire of Plantagenet is a local government area in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, managed from the town of Mount Barker, south of Perth and north of Albany. The shire covers an area of and includes the communities of Narrikup, Rocky Gully, Kendenup and Porongurup. The region is noted for agriculture, principally wheat, sheep (wool and meat), beef cattle, wine, canola and olives. The State Register of Heritage Places is the heritage register of historic sites in Western Australia deemed significant at the state level by the Heritage Council of Western Australia. Tenterden, Western Australia
Tenterden is a town located 328 km south-east of Perth, Western Australia, Perth in the Shire of Cranbrook in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, Great Southern region of Western Australia. The townsite is located on one of the rail siding, sidings on the Great Southern Railway (Western Australia), Great Southern Railway line. The siding was established in 1891 and shortly afterward the government made land available for agricultural purposes in the area. Frankland River is a small town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. The town is in the shire of Cranbrook and is situated approximately from the state's capital, Perth, approximately north west of Albany, southwest of Kojonup, north of Rocky Gully and east of Manjimup. Frankland derives its name from its location 6 km east of the Frankland River. At the 2006 census, Frankland had a population of 380. Cranbrook, Western Australia
Cranbrook is a small town in the Shire of Cranbrook in the Great Southern region of Western Australia between Katanning, Kojonup and Mount Barker, situated 320 km south of Perth. It is billed as "The Gateway to the Stirlings", referring to the nearby Stirling Range National Park. At the 2006 census, Cranbrook had a population of 280. The settlement grew after it was one of the original railway stations on the Great Southern Railway when the railway opened in 1889, and was gazetted a townsite in 1899.
