Shippagan-Lamèque-Miscou is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, Canada. It was previously named Shippagan-les-Îles from 1974 to 1995 and Lamèque-Shippagan-Miscou from 1995 to 2014. New Brunswick Electoral Redistribution, 2013
The 2013 New Brunswick electoral redistribution was undertaken through the process set out in the ''Electoral Boundaries and Representation Act'' of New Brunswick, Canada. The legislation establishes a statutory requirement for redistribution of electoral districts after every second New Brunswick general election. A commission was struck to draw 49 electoral districts, a decrease from 55 districts, which will first be used in the 2014 provincial election. The 49 boundaries will have to be within the range of 95% to 105% of the 1/49th of the number of registered voters in the province except in "extraordinary circumstances". Under the legislation, the commission will be chaired by one anglophone and one francophone and consist of 3 to 5 other commissioners, all of whom must be New Brunswick residents. Pokemouche, New Brunswick
Pokemouche () is a Canadian local service district in Gloucester County, in the northeast of New Brunswick, in the Acadian peninsula. It includes the communities of Cowans Creek, Pokemouche, and Upper Pokemouche. Despite its population of only 518 inhabitants, the LSD plays an important role in transportation, the economy and culture of the region, and it is the site of several major projects. The area around Pokemouche has been occupied for at least four thousand years by the Paleo-Indians, and for at least years by Mi'kmaq people, who now have a settlement at the Burnt Church First Nation. The current village was founded in 1812. Its main industry was originally forestry, but agriculture, as well as tourism centred on the Pokemouche River, now make up most of the local economy.
