Asian Kung–Fu Generation
(stylized as ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION) is a Japanese alternative rock band formed in Yokohama in 1996. For its entire career, the band has consisted of vocalist Masafumi Gotoh, guitarist Kensuke Kita, bassist Takahiro Yamada, and drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi. Starting out as a college band, Asian Kung-Fu Generation released a series of independent EPs featuring lyrics mostly sung in English. In 2002, they released their major-label EP debut '' Hōkai Amplifier'', from that point singing their lyrics in Japanese. The band's musical style is influenced by seminal Western alternative rock acts as well as their own local Japanese indie-rock and punk scene. Their songs incorporate various aspects of the genres, most typically expressing fast tempos and prominent power chord guitar riffs in addition to rhythmic groove and emotional lyrics. is a song by the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. It was the second single released from their second full-length studio album, '' Sol-fa'', on May 19, 2004. The song was used as the theme song for the drama '' Dame Nari!'' and, in the following year, it was used in '' Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan'', a Japanese rhythm game released on Nintendo DS. Music video The music video for "Loop & Loop" was co-directed by Kazuyoshi Oku and Masafumi Gotoh. The PV takes place within a classroom populated by four young boys. Over the course of the video, the students ride bikes, play jumprope, and pretend to be a band using brooms for guitars. All the while, they listen to headphones and lip-sync the lyrics to the song. Kiyoshi Ijichi
(born September 25, 1977) is the drummer of the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Ijichi credits the origin of his drumming ability to playing in marching bands in junior high. He met fellow band members Masafumi Gotō, Kensuke Kita, and Takahiro Yamada while attending Kanto Gakuin University in 1996. Unlike the others, Ijichi had prior band experience and was a member of another college band when approached by the three. After parting ways with his old band, Ijichi joined Gotō, Kita, and Yamada to form Asian Kung-Fu Generation and the four have been together ever since. Aside from drumming, Ijichi is a skilled pianist and can be heard playing an excerpt of "Claire de Lune" from Debussy's '' Suite bergamasque'' for the intro of "Moonlight." He has a degree in engineering and his favourite bands are Brian Setzer, Link, King Bee and Hi-Standard. Kensuke Kita
(January 24, 1977) is the lead guitarist and backing singer of the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Kensuke met fellow band members Masafumi Gotō and Takahiro Yamada while attending a music club of Kanto Gakuin University. The three formed Asian Kung-Fu Generation in 1996, with drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi joining the band shortly after. While he primarily performs as background vocals, he sang lead vocals on, "Uso to Wonderland", "Seaside Sleeping", "Time Traveler", "Hakkei" and "Omatsuri No Ato", all of them are B-sides from the band's singles. In 2016, they re-recorded Rewrite along with all songs from ''Sol-fa'' and released on November 30, 2016. It was announced in April 2010 after Gotoh posted an entry into his diary stating the title and that it would be released on June 23, 2010. History This is the first album released in 19 months since Surf Bungaku Kamakura is the fifth studio album released by the Japanese rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation, released on November 5, 2008. The album peaked at the second position on both the Oricon charts and ''Billboard Japan'' as well as at number eighteen on the Wo .... In his own diary, Gotoh was flying to reveal the announcement of the album.
