Adrian Maxwell Sherwood (born 20 January 1958, London, England) is an English record producer specialising in the genre of dub music. He has created a distinctive production style based on the application of dub effects and dub mixing techniques to other forms of electronic dance music and popular music outside of the genre. He has worked extensively with a variety of reggae artists as well as the musicians Keith LeBlanc, Doug Wimbish and Skip McDonald. Sherwood has remixed tracks by Coldcut, Depeche Mode, The Woodentops, Primal Scream, Pop Will Eat Itself, Sinéad O'Connor, and Skinny Puppy. In his role as a record producer he has worked with a variety of record labels; however, his best-known label is On-U Sound Records which he founded in 1979. He was of English descent, his grandfather Joseph Sherwood having been an English engineer who emigrated to Russia. His father was the architect Vladimir Osipovich Sherwood and his brother was the architect Vladimir Vladimirovich Sherwood. His surname is often transliterated as Shervud. Katherine Sherwood is an American artist living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area, California who is known for paintings that explore disability, feminism, and healing, and for her teaching and disability rights activism at the Department of Art Practice at the University of California, Berkeley. Early life and education Katherine Sherwood was born in 1952 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After the early death of her father and remarriage of her mother, her family relocated to California, where she attended a Catholic high school. She received a B.A. in Art History in 1975 from the University of California, Davis, where she studied art with painter Mike Henderson, and an M.F.A. in 1979 from San Francisco Art Institute. Kate Brownlee Sherwood (, Brownlee; September 24, 1841 – February 15, 1914) was an American poet, journalist, translator and story writer of the long nineteenth century, as well as a philanthropist, and patron of the arts and literature. Sherwood was also the founder of the Woman's Relief Corps and served as its second president. After marriage, she entered into her husband's journalistic work, where she learned to typeset, proofread, and manage all the details pertaining to the work in order to assist him. She contributed to various magazines and periodicals, and from 1883, was an editor of the Woman's Department of the ''National Tribune'' at Washington, D.C., a paper devoted to the interest of soldiers. Jim "Motorhead" Sherwood (May 8, 1942 – December 25, 2011) was an American rock musician notable for playing soprano, tenor and baritone saxophone, tambourine, vocals and vocal sound effects in Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention. He appeared on all the albums of the original Mothers line-up and the 'posthumous' releases '' Burnt Weeny Sandwich'' and ''Weasels Ripped My Flesh'', as well as certain subsequent Zappa albums.
