Jamien Sherwood
Jamien Sherwood (born January 12, 2000) is an American football linebacker for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Auburn. Early years Sherwood attended Jensen Beach High School in Jensen Beach, Florida. He committed to Auburn University to play college football. College career Sherwood played in 13 games his true freshman season at Auburn in 2018 and recorded 23 tackles, one interception and 1.5 sacks. As a sophomore in 2019, he had 43 tackles in 13 games. As a junior in 2020, Sherwood became a starter for the first time. He finished the 2020 season with 75 tackles and one sack. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). The 2021 NFL Draft was the 86th National Football League Draft, the annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players for the 2021 NFL season. The draft was held in Cleveland from April 29 to May 1, 2021.
