Sheri Jones
Sheri Jones is a Canadian artist manager based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has managed a roster of Maritime musical artists for nearly three decades. Career Jones founded her company Jones & Co. Artist Management in 1993 after working alongside Ron Hynes to prepare the release of his album Cryer's Paradise. While hiring a band for Hynes' release tour, Jones hired a young fiddler who ended up being her second artist, Ashley MacIsaac. Jones met Mary Jane Lamond and Gordie Sampson and launched her own record label, turtlemusik in 1997. By this time, Jones was representing a variety of artists including Sampson, Lamond, Kim Stockwood, and Damhnait Doyle. Stockwood and Doyle then teamed up with singer-songwriter Tara MacLean to form the band Shaye from 2003 until 2009, when MacLean left to focus on raising her young family. David Myles (born May 12, 1981) is a Canadian songwriter and musician born in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Breagh MacKinnon
Breagh MacKinnon (born January 17, 1991), known professionally as Breagh Isabel, is a Canadian recording artist, songwriter, and producer based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has written for a variety of Canadian artists, including Banners, Donovan Woods, Classified, Jocelyn Alice, and Ria Mae. Life and career Born into a musical family on Cape Breton Island, Isabel began writing songs in high school. In college, she majored in jazz piano performance, while writing and recording music of her own. In 2015, Isabel, still performing as Breagh MacKinnon, teamed up with fellow singer-songwriters Dylan Guthro and Carleton Stone to form the band Port Cities. Carleton Stone
Carleton Stone is a Canadian singer-songwriter based in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. After recording three albums as a solo artist, Stone joined forces in 2015 with musicians Dylan Guthro and Breagh Mackinnon to form the pop band Port Cities. Life and career Stone was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He had a musical family and grew up listening to Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Adams, and Bob Dylan, among others. He began his professional musical life fronting a band, and self-produced the group's debut album, entitled ''Carleton Stone Drives the Big Wheel'', which was released in 2009. Dylan Guthro (born 1991) is a Canadian singer/songwriter based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The son of musician Bruce Guthro, Dylan released his debut album, ''All That's True'', in 2012. In 2015, Guthro teamed up with fellow Halifax singer-songwriters Carleton Stone and Breagh Mackinnon to form the band Port Cities. Life and career Dylan Guthro was exposed to music since birth as the son of Cape Breton singer-songwriter Bruce Guthro. Mo Kenney
Mo Kenney (born 1990) is a Canadian singer/songwriter based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Catching the ear of noted Canadian rocker Joel Plaskett while still in school, Kenney released their first album in 2012, which Plaskett produced. Kenney is known for their lyrical prowess and engaging stage presence. Called "Nova Scotia's rising star" by ''The Scene'' magazine, they have toured with Plaskett as well as with Ron Sexsmith. Ron Hynes (December 7, 1950 – November 19, 2015) was a folk singer-songwriter from Newfoundland and Labrador. He was especially known for his composition "Sonny's Dream", which has been recorded worldwide by many artists and was named the 41st greatest Canadian song of all time on the 2005 CBC Radio One series '' 50 Tracks: The Canadian Version''. William Joel MacDonald Plaskett (born April 18, 1975) is a Canadian rock musician and songwriter based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was a member of Halifax alternative rock band Thrush Hermit in the 1990s. Plaskett performs in a number of genres, from blues and folk to hard rock, country, and pop.
