Sherbrooke Castors
The Sherbrooke Castors or Beavers (in English) was the name of two different junior ice hockey teams in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and another team in the Quebec Eastern Provincial Hockey League. Both later franchises played at the Palais des Sports in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Earlier Castors The earlier Sherbrooke Beavers were a senior ice hockey team which won the 1965 Allan Cup, and previously played in the Quebec Eastern Provincial Hockey League, an amateur league and team from 1959 to 1962. Original Castors The Sherbrooke Castors (1969-1982) moved to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec in 1982, named the Saint-Jean Castors. In 1989 they were renamed the Saint-Jean Lynx. In 1995 the team moved to Rimouski, Quebec to become the Rimouski Océanic. This original Castors franchise won the President's Cup in 1975, 1977 and 1982. The second incarnation never won. Sherbrooke
Sherbrooke ( ; ) is a city in southern Quebec, Canada. It is at the confluence of the Saint-François and Magog rivers in the heart of the Estrie administrative region. Kitchener Rangers
The Kitchener Rangers are a major junior ice hockey team based in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the Midwest Division of the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League. The Rangers have won the J. Ross Robertson Cup as OHL champions in 1981, 1982, 2003 and 2008. They have appeared in six Memorial Cups (1981, 1982, 1984, 1990, 2003 and 2008), advancing to the final game of the tournament each of those six years. They are two-time Memorial Cup champions (1982, 2003). Ronald Carter (born March 14, 1958) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey right winger. Early life Carter was born in Montreal. He played junior ice hockey for the Sherbrooke Castors of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Career Carter was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round of the 1978 NHL Entry Draft. Claude Cardin
Joseph Andre Claude Cardin (born February 17, 1941 in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec) is a Canadian former ice hockey left winger. Cardin was signed by the Montreal Canadiens but was traded to the St. Louis Blues and played just one game in the National Hockey League for the during their inaugural 1967–68 NHL season, having spent much of his tenure with the Kansas City Blues. He split the 1970–71 season in the Eastern Hockey League for the Syracuse Blazers and in the International Hockey League for the Des Moines Oak Leafs before retiring. Fred Burchell (ice Hockey)
Frederick Leo Gerald Burchell (January 9, 1931 – June 4, 1998) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player born in Montreal, Quebec. Career Burchell began his hockey career when he played two games for the QSHL Montreal Royals. He played the next season with the NHL Montreal Canadiens. He moved on to the Eastern Hockey League to play for the Johnstown Jets where he finally found his scoring touch ( 37– 56– 93). He played for the next two seasons for the Montreal Royals again (during their league transition into a semi-pro league). He was again called up to the Canadiens and again playing two games and going pointless. He returned to the Montreal Royals before joining the Winnipeg Warriors. He began scoring more consistently as he re-joined the QHL Montreal Royals and stayed into their years when they joined the EPHL where he won that league's MVP award in 1961. Paul Boutilier
Paul André Boutilier (born May 3, 1963) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played with several National Hockey League teams in the 1980s. He was a member of the 1983 Stanley Cup champion New York Islanders. Playing career Boutilier was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He starred in the QMJHL with the Sherbrooke Castors in the early 1980s. In 1982, he helped the team reach the Memorial Cup finals, however, his team lost to the Kitchener Rangers. He was named to the tournament all-star team, and was voted a first-team all-star by the QMJHL. Pierre Serge Boisvert (born June 1, 1959) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens.
