Sheng Bin
Sheng Bin (; born December 1958) is a lieutenant general in the People's Liberation Army of China who served as head of the National Defense Mobilization Department of the Central Military Commission between 2016 and 2021. He is a member of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. He was a delegate to the 12th National People's Congress. Biography Sheng was born in Yingkou County (now Yingkou), Liaoning, in December 1958. He enlisted in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in December 1976. In 1994, he rose to become commander of the 205th Regiment of the 69th Division of the 23rd Group Army. In 1997, he entered the PLA National Defence University, where he graduated in 2000. In 2001, he studied at the Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and was promoted to commander of the 69th Motorized Infantry Division after returning China. Hou Jizhen (; born November 1951) is a retired lieutenant general ('' zhongjiang'') of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) who served as chief of staff of the Shenyang Military Region from 2009 to 2014. He was a representative of 17th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. Biography Hou was born in Xiajin County, Shandong, in November 1951. He served in the 23rd Army for a long time. (; ja, 将, Shō; ) is the rank held by general officers in some East Asian militaries. The ranks are used in both the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China on Taiwan. The People's Liberation Army and the People's Armed Police use three levels at present while the Republic of China Armed Forces use four. In both North and South Korea the rank is also used. Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. The disappearance of the "sergeant" in the title explains the apparent confusion of a lieutenant general outranking a major general, whereas a major outranks a lieutenant. In the Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth and in the United States, when appointed to a field command, a major general is typically in command of a Division (military), division consisting of around 6,000 to 25,000 troops (several regiments or brigades). It is a two-star general, two-star rank that is subordinate to the rank of lieutenant general and senior to the rank of brigadier or brigadier general. Shenyang Military Region
The Shenyang Military Region was one of seven military regions for the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It has command and control of military and armed police forces in the three northeast provinces of Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Liaoning, which also form Military Districts. This region is now superseded by the Northern Theater Command. The Shenyang Military Region was left with unchanged boundaries since the late 1960s. It is bordered internally by the Beijing Military Region to the west. Externally, it is bordered by North Korea to the south east and the Russian Far East to the north. Prior to the Cultural Revolution, military region commanders tended to remain in post for long periods.
