Henry D. Sheldon High School is a public high school in Eugene, Oregon, United States. The school's nickname is the Irish. Sheldon is one of four traditional high schools in the Eugene School District. History Sheldon High School opened in the 1963-64 academic year as the third high school in the Eugene School District. The school gets its name from Dr. Henry D. Sheldon (1874–1948). Athletics Sheldon plays at the 6A level. The football team was named twenty-fourth in the nation by ''USA Today'' in 2002 and has won the most 6A high school championship appearances in the state of Oregon history. Eugene, Oregon
Eugene ( ) is a city in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is located at the southern end of the Willamette Valley, near the confluence of the McKenzie and Willamette rivers, about east of the Oregon Coast. As of the 2020 United States Census, Eugene had a population of 176,654 and covers city area of 44.21 sq mi (114.50 sq km). Eugene is the seat of Lane County and the state's second largest city after Portland. Alex Brink
Alex Brink (born June 2, 1985) is a former professional Canadian football quarterback. After playing college football at Washington State, Brink was drafted by the Houston Texans in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. In 2010, he joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. Brink has also played for the Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes. Dave Hunt (Oregon Politician)
Dave Hunt (born November 10, 1967) is an American politician in the state of Oregon. A Democrat, he was the Oregon House Speaker and served as State Representative for District 40 of the Oregon House of Representatives representing Clackamas County from 2003 to 2013. He was elected House Majority Leader for the 2007–2009 session, succeeding Minority Leader Jeff Merkley, who was chosen as Speaker. Hunt served as Speaker during the 2009–2011 session, again succeeding Merkley, who was elected to serve in the United States Senate. Justin Patrick Herbert (born March 10, 1998) is an American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). James Patrick "Mash" Dutton, Jr. (born November 20, 1968) is an engineer, former NASA astronaut pilot of the Class of 2004 (NASA Group 19), and a former test pilot in the US Air Force with the rank of colonel. Todd Christensen
Todd Jay Christensen (August 3, 1956 – November 13, 2013) was an American football player who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 1978 until 1988, spending most of that time playing tight end for the Oakland / Los Angeles Raiders. Following his retirement Christensen became a commentator for both professional and collegiate games, working for NBC Sports, ESPN, and CBS Sports Network among others. Kameron Canaday (born August 20, 1993) is an American football long snapper who is a free agent. He played college football at Portland State and signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2016. Early years Canaday played high school football at Sheldon High School in Eugene, Oregon, where he was a long snapper and defensive lineman.
