Sheila Voas
Sheila Voas is a veterinary surgeon and the Chief Veterinary Officer of Scotland since 2012. Biography Voas attended Kings Park Primary School and Dalkeith High School in Midlothian, Scotland, graduating at the latter in 1983. Sheila attended the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at University of Edinburgh, getting her BVM&S qualification in 1988. She worked in a mixed practice for two years at Driffield, East Yorkshire and then moved to the Scottish Borders area in Scotland where she had mixed practice roles, also in Biggar and Peebles. Voas joined the Scottish Government as a veterinary advisor. She later became the deputy CVO. In June 2011, following the departure of incumbent Simon Hall, she became the acting CVO of Scotland, and in October 2012, was appointed permanently for the position. Biggar, South Lanarkshire
Biggar ( gd, Bigear ) is a town and former burgh in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, in the Southern Uplands near the River Clyde on the A702. The closest towns are Lanark and Peebles. Details The town was once served by the Symington, Biggar and Broughton Railway, which ran from the Caledonian Railway (now the West Coast Main Line) at Symington to join the Peebles Railway at Peebles. The station and signal box are still standing but housing has been built on the line running west from the station and the railway running east from the station is a public footpath to Broughton, part of the Biggar Country Path network. Blyth Bridge
Blyth Bridge is a small hamlet in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, near to West Linton. It is located in a bend on the A701 which goes from Moffat to Edinburgh, close to the junction with the East-West road the A72 which goes to Peebles. Places nearby include the Lyne Water, Carlops, Romannobridge, and the Deepsyke Forest. There is an aqueduct carrying a large water main which supplies Edinburgh and passes over Tarth Water. Peebles ( gd, Na Pùballan) is a town in the Scottish Borders, Scotland. It was historically a royal burgh and the county town of Peeblesshire. Driffield, also known as Great Driffield, is a market town and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
