The Shawville Pontiacs are a Junior "B" team based out of Shawville, Quebec. They play out of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League. History At the conclusion of the 2014-15 season, the league announced it was re-organizing to be more of dedicated developmental league to the Central Canada Hockey League and renamed the league Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2. Shawville, Quebec
Shawville is a town located in the Pontiac Regional County Municipality in the administrative region of Outaouais in western Quebec, Canada. History At the end of the 1860s, a group of citizens from Clarendon Centre, under the leadership of James Shaw (1818-1877), separated the municipality from the township of Clarendon. While they had originally planned on naming the new entity "Daggville," after the name of a pioneer family, they opted instead to name it "Shawville" after James Shaw promised to donate 0.8 ha of land to the new municipality. Shawville was officially established in 1874 and was populated by Irish Protestant immigrants. Shaw, who had settled in the area in 1843, was the first mayor, serving from 1856 to 1877. The municipality has a Methodist church that was built in Shawville in 1835, while the Catholic Parish of Saint-Alexandre-de-Clarendon opened its doors in 1840. Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League
The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League is a Junior ice hockey league operating in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada and acts as a second tier to the Central Canada Hockey League. The 16 member teams of the league compete for the Barkley Cup. Dating back to the 1960s, the league was known until 2015 as the Eastern Ontario Junior B Hockey League. The League was known from 2015 to 2020 as the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2. The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) is a Canadian Junior "A" ice hockey league operating in eastern Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by the Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada and is a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The Almonte Thunder are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based in Almonte, Ontario. They play in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League. The Gananoque Islanders are a Canadian Senior team based out of Gananoque, Ontario. They play in the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League. Gatineau Mustangs
The Gatineau Flames are a Canada, Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Buckingham, Quebec. The team is a member of the Quebec Junior Hockey League, but was a member of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League for decades, ending in 2015. History Originally known as the Voisins de Papineau (Papineau Neighbours), the Neighbours lost in the 1999 final and won the 2000 Eastern Ontario Junior "B" title despite being from the Province of Quebec. In 2002, the team became the Buckingham Mustangs. In 2003, the team expanded their name by becoming the Gatineau Mustangs. In 2006, the Mustangs hosted the 2006 Coupe Dodge, the Hockey Quebec Junior "AA" championships. The Valley Timberwolves are a Canadian junior ice hockey team from Renfrew, Ontario. They played in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League until the league was re-branded the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 (CCHL2) 2015. History The Renfrew Jr. B Timberwolves came into existence in 1968 as the Renfrew Lions, sponsored by The Renfrew Lions Club and captured their first Eastern Ontario Championship that year.
