Shaun Simpson (motorcyclist)
Shaun Simpson (born 13 March 1988) is a Scottish professional motocross racer. He has competed in the Motocross World Championships since 2004. Simpson has won two British motocross championships (2008 and 2014), a Belgian Championship (2011) and has represented Great Britain four times at the prestigious Motocross des Nations. Motocross career Simpson was born in Gauldry, Fife, Scotland and educated at Madras College secondary school. In 2010, Simpson competed for the KTM factory racing team managed by former world champion Stefan Everts in the F.I.M. MX2-GP World Championships. He finished in 8th place with three podium finishes. For 2011 he signed a contract to race for the Honda LS team and finished the season in fifteenth place. He raced in the 2013 season with Factory TM Ricci Racing using the number 24 jersey. Stefan Everts
Stefan Everts (born 25 November 1972) is a Belgian former professional motocross racer and racing team manager. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1988 to 2006. Everts is notable for winning a record 10 FIM motocross world championships and 101 motocross Grand Prix race victories, making him the most successful competitor in the history of the Motocross World Championships. In 2003, Everts was named the recipient of the Belgian National Sports Merit Award. Biography Everts was born in Neeroeteren, a sub-municipality of Maaseik, Belgium as the son of four-time motocross world champion, Harry Everts. He began riding motorcycles at the age of four. 2015 FIM Motocross World Championship Season
The 2015 FIM Motocross World Championship was the 59th F.I.M. Motocross World Championship season. It included 18 events, starting at Losail in Qatar on 28 February, and ending at San Bernardino, California in the United States on 20 September. In the main MXGP class, Tony Cairoli was the six-time defending champion, and entered the 2015 season looking to score a record seventh consecutive premier class title, for Red Bull KTM. In the MX2 class, Jordi Tixier was the defending champion, after taking the title in the final race of the 2014 season, also for Red Bull KTM. 2014 FIM Motocross World Championship Season
The 2014 FIM Motocross World Championship was the 58th F.I.M. Motocross World Championship season. It included 17 events including Qatar, Thailand, Brazil, Italy, The Netherlands, Great Britain, France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Belgium and Mexico. In the premier MXGP class, Tony Cairoli won his sixth consecutive championship title, matching the previous record set by Stefan Everts between 2001 and 2006. Cairoli, riding a KTM, won a total of 9 rounds and 15 races en route to the title, finishing 119 points clear of his nearest rival, Jeremy Van Horebeek, riding a Yamaha. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions.
