Shaun MacGowan
Shaun MacGowan (born May 13 1988) is a UK-born violinist, keyboardist and guitarist, best known as the keyboardist and violinist of British doom metal band My Dying Bride. He replaced Katie Stone in 2009, and joined the band to tour the album '' For Lies I Sire''. His first studio appearance with the group came on the 2009 EP '' Bring Me Victory'', on which he played two tracks. Shaun was a member of British death metal band Narcotic Death, joining on guitar to complete the band's original gigging line-up in 2008, appearing on the band's self-titled demo EP (2008) and album ''Anthology of the Damned'' (2010). He left in late 2010. Dewsbury
Dewsbury is a minster and market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England. It lies on the River Calder and on an arm of the Calder and Hebble Navigation waterway. It is to the west of Wakefield, east of Huddersfield and south of Leeds. Historically a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, after undergoing a period of major growth in the 19th century as a mill town, Dewsbury went through a period of decline. Narcotic Death (EP)
The term narcotic (, from ancient Greek ναρκῶ ''narkō'', "to make numb") originally referred medically to any psychoactive compound with numbing or paralyzing properties. In the United States, it has since become associated with opiates and opioids, commonly morphine and heroin, as well as derivatives of many of the compounds found within raw opium latex. ''A Map of All Our Failures'' is the 11th studio album by English doom metal band My Dying Bride, released on 15 October 2012 via Peaceville Records. Limited editions of the album included a bonus track and a DVD featuring a 70-minute documentary, ''An Evening With the Bride''. The album cover artwork was by Rhett Podersoo. Musical style Vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe described the album as being similar to the band's previous effort, '' For Lies I Sire'', but said that the music had evolved. He described the lyrics as being about religion, passion, love and loss. Bassist Lena Abé described the album as being a "new style of writing, done in an old way", and almost having a "live sound" due to the presence of feedback and "raw and rough" elements.
