Sharp And Fellows, Inc.
Sharp and Fellows, Inc. is a railroad contracting company that specializes in building, maintaining and demolishing railroad track and infrastructure for many railroad companies all across the southwest portion of the United States. The company has been operating since 1877. Its headquarters are located in Gardena, California. History Sharp and Fellows, Inc. built the Sharp and Fellows #7 locomotive engine around 1902 with a 2-6-0 wheel arrangement for the Minnesota Land and Construction Company. Gardena is a city located in the South Bay (Los Angeles County), South Bay region of Los Angeles County, California, Los Angeles County, California, United States. Travel Town Museum is a railway museum dedicated on December 14, 1952, and located in the northwest corner of Los Angeles, California, Los Angeles, California's Griffith Park. The history of railroad transportation in the western United States from 1880 to the 1930s is the primary focus of the museum's collection, with an emphasis on railroading in Southern California and the Los Angeles area. ''Thunderbird'' was a high mission-tally Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress of the 303rd Bombardment Group during World War II. The original plane, serial number 42-38050, was scrapped at the end of the war and no longer exists. The name also appears on a later B-17G delivered at the end of the war, serial number 44-85718, which remains airworthy and is painted to replicate the earlier ''Thunderbird''.
