Sharnol Adriana
Sharnol Leonard Adriana (born November 13, 1970) is a Curaçaoan-Netherlands, Dutch baseball player and coach. He spent several minor league seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays organization before moving to the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol, Mexican League. As of 2020, he is a coach for the Spokane Indians. Early years Born in Willemstad, Adriana began his professional baseball career after being taken in the 15th round of the 1991 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays assigned him to their St. Catharines Blue Jays farm team, where he hit .206-.311-.341 as the regular shortstop. In 1992, he was the second baseman for the Dunedin Blue Jays and he hit .276-.369-.333. Frisco RoughRiders
The Frisco RoughRiders (often shortened to 'Riders) are a Minor League Baseball team of the Texas League and the Double-A (baseball), Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers (baseball), Texas Rangers. They are located in Frisco, Texas, and are named for the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment during the Spanish–American War, headed by future American President Theodore Roosevelt, nicknamed "The Rough Riders" by the American press. They play their home games at Riders Field, which opened in 2003 and seats 10,316 people. Liga Mexicana De Beisbol
The Mexican League (, ) is a professional baseball league based in Mexico and the oldest running professional league in the country. The league has 18 teams organized in two divisions, North and South. Teams play 114 games each season. Five teams in each division advance to a four-round postseason tournament that culminates in the Serie del Rey, a best-of-seven championship series between the two division champions. The Mexican League has two affiliated minor leagues, the Liga Norte de México and Mexican Academy League. Claudio Liverziani
Claudio Liverziani (born 4 March 1975) is an Italian former professional baseball player who competed in Minor League Baseball and for the Italian national team. Liverziani made his professional debut in Italy at 16 years old before signing with the Seattle Mariners. In 1997 and 1998, Liverziani played for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in the Midwest League. He was released by the Mariners organization on or about April 1, 1999. He returned to Italy in 1999 and played in the Italian Baseball League until 2016, primarily for Bologna. In 2009, he recorded his 1,000th hit in the Italian league against Abe Alvarez. He was the seventh player to reach that mark. In December 2009, the Italian National Olympic Committee announced that Liverziani would be banned for two years due to a drug offense. The 2002 Intercontinental Cup was an association football match played on 3 December 2002, between Real Madrid of Spain, winners of the 2001–02 UEFA Champions League, and Olimpia of Paraguay, winners of the 2002 Copa Libertadores. 2001 Baseball World Cup
The 2001 Baseball World Cup (BWC) was the 34th international Men's amateur baseball tournament. The tournament was sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation, which titled it the Amateur World Series from the 1938 tournament through the 1986 AWS. The tournament was held, for the first time, in Taiwan, from 6 to 18 November. Cuba defeated the United States in the final, winning its 23rd title. There were 16 participating countries, split into two groups, with the first four of each group qualifying for the finals. The next five competitions were also held as the BWC tournament, which was replaced in 2015 by the quadrennial WBSC Premier12. The Piratas de Campeche (English: Campeche Pirates) are a professional baseball team in the Mexican League (LMB) based in Campeche, Campeche, Mexico. History In 1980, the Alacranes de Durango moved to Campeche, and played their home games at Venustiano Carranza Park.
