Sharleen Makusha
Sharleen Makusha (born 28 December 1997) is a Zimbabwean netball player who represents Zimbabwe internationally and plays in the position of goal keeper. Early life Makusha was born in 1997 and her first interest was soccer. However her skills and height attracted the attention of netball coach Simbarashe Mlambo. Makusha won her parents support for her new interest when she won a scholarship to Pamushana Mission school in Masvingo where she repeated two years of schooling and developed her netball skills. Career In 2018, she was included in the national under 21 team to attend the World Cup in Botswana. In 2018, she was playing for the Platinum Queens in Zvishavane with fellow national team player Progress Moyo. Makusha was chosen together with other ex under 21 players Claris Kwaramba and Sharon Bwanali to be part of the 2019 Netball World Cup team. Masvingo
Masvingo is a city in south-eastern Zimbabwe and the capital of Masvingo Province. The city is situated close to Great Zimbabwe, the national monument from which the country takes its name and close to Lake Mutirikwi, its recreational park, the Kyle dam and the Kyle National Reserve where there are many different animal species. It is mostly populated by the Karanga people who form the biggest branch of the various Shona tribes in Zimbabwe. Zvishavane
Zvishavane (known until 1982 as Shabani) is a mining town in Midlands Province, Zimbabwe. Surrounded by low hills, it lies west of Masvingo, on the main Bulawayo-Masvingo road. Other roads lead from Zvishavane to Gweru, north, and Mberengwa, south-west. It is also on direct rail links to Gweru and Beit Bridge which then link up with Harare and Bulawayo in Zimbabwe and to Maputo in Mozambique, and Pretoria in South Africa. The 2019 Netball World Cup (also known as the 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 15th edition of the INF Netball World Cup. It was held from 12–21 July 2019 at the Liverpool Arena in Liverpool, England with matches being held on two courts. Host nation England finished their campaign with a bronze medal. New Zealand became 5th time champions after beating Australia in the final and gold medal match. Sixteen nations contested for the title, which included the top six of the previous tournament which was held in Sydney, Australia. After two group stage rounds, Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa all made it to the semi-finals. The Netball World Cup is a quadrennial international netball world championship organised by the World Netball, inaugurated in 1963. 2019 African Netball Championships
The 2019 African Netball Championships was held in Cape Town from 18-23 October 2019. The tournament featured seven nations including hosts South Africa, defending champions Uganda along with Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Lesotho and Zimbabwe in 2 pool categories. Tanzania pulled out of the tournament due to financial issues, just a day before the tournament opener against Zimbabwe. The tournament was originally supposed to have its scheduled opening match between defending champions Uganda and Zimbabwe but was called off due to the last minute withdrawal by Tanzania. The authorities later revealed that the match between hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe to be the opening match of the tournament while the tournament was later modified with round robin format.
