Shannon Jay
Shannon Jay (born c. 1993; ) is a Canadian curler from Sarnia, Ontario. She currently skips a team on the World Curling Tour. In 2013, Jay was a member of the Fanshawe College team, skipped by Jordan Ariss, that won the CCAA Curling National Championships. In 2014, she and her teammate then-boyfriend Chris Jay won the 2014 Ontario Mixed Doubles Challenge. They played in the 2014 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials, going 5-2 in their pool before losing in their first playoff game. Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a ''game''; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each ''end'', which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones once. Margot Flemming
Margot Flemming (born December 9, 1993) is a Canadian curler from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. She currently plays third on Team Kerry Galusha. Career While in juniors, Flemming played third for Kendall Haymes. Despite not winning a provincial junior title, the team did win the U18 Ontario Curling Championships in 2010 with second Cassie Savage and lead Megan Arnold. Flemming and her team skipped by Shannon Jay qualified for the 2015 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts by winning their regional qualifier. At the provincial championship, the team finished in ninth place with a 3–6 round robin record. The following season, Flemming left the Jay rink and joined Team Kerry Lackie. On the tour, the team missed the playoffs in all three of their events. They weren't able to qualify for the 2016 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts either, losing out in their regional qualifier. 2015 Ontario Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2015 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held January 19 to 25 at the Penetanguishene Curling Club in Penetanguishene, Ontario. The winning Julie Hastings team represented Ontario at the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The event marked the first tournament to exclude teams from Northern Ontario, which began to have its own entry into the Scotties, the 2015 Northern Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Sarnia is a city in Lambton County, Ontario, Canada. It had a 2021 population of 72,047, and is the largest city on Lake Huron. Sarnia is located on the eastern bank of the junction between the Upper and Lower Great Lakes where Lake Huron flows into the St. Clair River in the Southwestern Ontario region, which forms the Canada–United States border, directly across from Port Huron, Michigan. The 2014 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials was held March 19 to 23 at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club in Ottawa, Ontario. It is the second Canadian Mixed Doubles championship.
