Niren Lahiri
Niren Lahiri or Nirendranath Lahiri (17 July 1908 – 2 December 1972) was a Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali and Hindi film director. He received 9th Annual BFJA Awards in 1946 and 2nd National Film Awards in 1955. Career Lahiri was born in Kolkata, British India in 1907. His father's name was Jitendra Nath Lahiri. Initially he started his career as an actor in Pramathesh Barua’s studio. He worked with Mr. Barua at New Theatres. He acted in ''Abhinav'' in 1940 directed by Debaki Bose. Lahiri was the music director of ''Ashiana'', ''Tarubala'' and ''Annapurnar Mandir'' in 1936. In 1940 he made his directional debut in the film ''Byabodhan''. He became popular after directing ''Bhabhi Kaal'' in 1945. He directed about 27 films including Bengali and Hindi cinema. Lahiri died in 1972. Chhabi Biswas
Chhabi Biswas (''Chabi Biśbās'') (13 July 1900 – 11 June 1962) was an Indian actor, primarily known for his performances in Tapan Sinha's '' Kabuliwala'' and Satyajit Ray's films '' Jalshaghar'' (''The Music Room'', 1958), '' Devi'' (''The Goddess'', 1960) and ''Kanchenjungha'' (1962). He is best remembered for his numerous roles as the quintessential aristocratic patriarch, and was himself the scion of a rich and cultured North Kolkata family. He was born on 12 July 1900. Chhaya Devi ( bn, ছায়া দেবী; 3 June 1914 – 25 April 2001) was an Indian actress known for her work in Bengali and Hindi cinema. She appeared in hundreds of films for over five decades. Basanta Choudhury (also Chowdhury; 5 May 1928 – 20 June 2000) was an Indian actor in Bengali and Hindi films. He worked with directors Asit Sen, Rajen Tarafdar, Ajay Kar and Bijay Bose, often in leading roles. He is a former Sheriff of Kolkata. Anup Kumar (অনুপ কুমার) (17 June 1930 – 3 September 1998) was an Indian actor who is known for his work in Bengali cinema. Early life Anup Kumar was born on 17 June 1930 in Calcutta, British India. His real name was Satyen Das. His parents were Dhirendra Nath Das who was a singer and actor and was closely associated with the famous poet and composer, Kazi Nazrul Islam 899-1976 and Bijoya Das.
