Shangqiu Railway Station
The Shangqiu railway station () is a railway station on Longhai railway and Xuzhou–Lanzhou high-speed railway in Shangqiu, Henan, China. History The history of the station dates back to 1912, when the French engineers responsible for route selection of the Kaifeng–Xuzhou section of Longhai railway began site survey just outside the north city gate of Guide (now Shangqiu). Since local gentries strongly opposed to the station site for the reason of Feng shui, the site of the station was moved about 7.5 km north and was named as Zhuji railway station (). Construction began in 1913, with a French-style station building covering an area of and a long platform. The station became operational in 1915, with the completion of the Kaifeng–Xuzhou railway The name of the station was later changed to Guide railway station (), after the former name of Shangqiu, and Shangqiu County railway station (). Liangyuan District
Liangyuan District () is one of the two districts of the city of Shangqiu, Henan province. The name Liangyuan, or "the garden of Liang", follows from the name Prince Xiao of Liang Liu Wu (刘武) (–144 BC), posthumous name, posthumously named Prince Xiao of Liang, was a Han dynasty, Han kings of the Han Dynasty, prince. He was a son of Emperor Wen of Han, Emperor Wen and Empress Xiaowen of Han, Empress Xiaowen, ..., who built the garden around 154 BC centered in the area of nowadays Shangqiu. Xuzhou–Lanzhou High-speed Railway
The Eurasia Continental Bridge corridor () is a high-speed rail corridor connecting Lianyungang, a port in northern Jiangsu province, to Ürümqi, the regional capital of Xinjiang. The corridor passes through the cities of Xuzhou (Jiangsu), Zhengzhou (Henan), Xi'an (Shaanxi), Lanzhou (Gansu), and Xining (Qinghai) en route. Announced in 2016 as part of the "eight verticals and eight horizontals" railway network plan, the rail corridor is an extension of the existing Xuzhou–Lanzhou high-speed railway. Shangqiu (), alternately romanized as Shangkiu, is a city in eastern Henan province, Central China. It borders Kaifeng to the northwest, Zhoukou to the southwest, and the provinces of Shandong and Anhui to the northeast and southeast respectively. Its population was 7,816,831 inhabitants as of the 2020 Chinese census whom 2,831,814 lived in the built-up (''or metro'') area made up of two urban districts (Liangyuan and Suiyang) and Yucheng county now being conurbated.
