Shane Tutmarc
Shane Tutmarc (born September 25, 1981) is an American producer, songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist. Career Tutmarc is the great-grandson of Paul Tutmarc, who has been credited as the inventor of the electric bass. His grandfather, Bud Tutmarc, was a well-known Hawaiian steel guitar player. Tutmarc was the leader of Seattle band Dolour from 1997 to 2007. He has played in several other bands, including United State of Electronica and Shane Tutmarc & The Traveling Mercies. In June 2009, Tutmarc released his first solo album, ''Shouting at a Silent Sky''. In January 2010, he re-located to Nashville, Tennessee. Several of his songs have been featured on television programs and films. In 2016, Tutmarc began a new project called Solar Twin. Dolour
Dolour is a band led by Shane Tutmarc. History Dolour was formed in Seattle, Washington, releasing their debut 7" in mid-1998 on Theory Records, and two self-released EPs before releasing their first album ''Waiting For A World War'' in April 2001 on Sonic Boom Records. By the release of Waiting for a World War, Dolour had become a solo project for Tutmarc. Tutmarc recorded Suburbiac, released on Fugitive Records in 2002, with producer Aaron Sprinkle. The self-produced '' New Old Friends (2004)'' was released on Made In Mexico Records in November 2004. In 2005, A Matter of Time: 2000-2005, an anthology, was released by Japanese label Quince Records. Record Store Day
Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 and held on one Saturday (typically the third) every April and every Black Friday in November to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores around the world. A number of records are pressed specifically for Record Store Day, with a list of releases for each country, and are only distributed to shops participating in the event. Jessica Lea Mayfield (born August 27, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter from Kent, Ohio, United States. She is known for her ominous song writing, with a plaintive minimalist style that draws on both country and rock music. Early years Mayfield first performed with her family bluegrass band One Way Rider at the age of 8. They began touring as a family band, boarding a 1956 tour bus (once belonging to Bill Monroe, Kitty Wells, and Ernest Tubb) and headed south from Ohio to Tennessee. At age 11, Mayfield began playing guitar and writing songs. Sean Nelson (born June 12, 1973) is an American musician and journalist. He was the lead singer of the alternative rock group Harvey Danger and is the arts editor for '' The Stranger'' newspaper in Seattle, Washington. Music career Nelson is a graduate of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia and was a classmate of Paul DePodesta and Courtenay Bram Anderson. The Lashes
The Lashes were a Seattle-based power pop band that formed in 2000 and became inactive in 2008. In 2004, the Lashes released the ''Stupid Stupid'' EP, produced by John Goodmanson, on Lookout! Records. Goodmanson also produced their debut album, ''Get It'', released by Columbia Records in 2006. On May 5, 2007, Lashes guitarist Eric Howk fell into a hole at a construction site near a friend's house and broke several vertebrae and severed his spine. The accident left him paralyzed from the waist down. On May 17, 2007, the McLeod Residence hosted a benefit for Howk. Donations collected at the event raised money to help cover his medical bills. Gatsbys American Dream is an American indie rock band from Seattle, Washington. Since their founding in 2001, they have released four full-length albums and one EP.
