Shamim Mumtaz is a Pakistani politician who had been a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, from August 2018 to August 2023 and from June 2013 to May 2018. Early life and education She was born on 15 November 1957 in Karachi. She has done Bachelor of Arts. Political career She was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on a reserved seat for women in 2013 Pakistani general election. In July 2016, she was inducted into the provincial Sindh cabinet of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and was appointed Provincial Minister of Sindh for Social Welfare. In April 2017, she was denotified as Provincial Minister of Sindh for Social Welfare and was appointed Advisor to Chief Minister of Sindh on Social Welfare. Provincial Assembly Of Sindh
The Provincial Assembly of Sindh ( ur, ) is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani province of Sindh, and is located in Karachi, the provincial capital. It was established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan having a total of 168 seats, with 130 general seats, 29 seats reserved for women and 9 seats reserved for non-Muslims. There was previously a Sind Legislative Assembly in the Sind Province of British India and in the early years of the state of Pakistan. 2013 Pakistani General Election
General elections were held in Pakistan on Saturday 11 May 2013 to elect the members of the 14th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties were the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) led by Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) led by President Asif Ali Zardari and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan. Prior to the elections, the ruling PPP formed an alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and Awami National Party, while the main opposition party, the PML-N allied with the Pakistan Muslim League (F) and Baloch parties. Syed Murad Ali Shah
Syed Murad Ali Shah ( ur, , ; born 8 November 1962) is a Pakistani politician and structural engineer who is the 29th and current Chief Minister of Sindh province of Pakistan and has been a member of the Sindh Assembly. Early life and education Shah was born in Karachi, Pakistan, to Syed Abdullah Ali Shah who was also chief minister of Sindh. Shah matriculated from Saint Patrick's High School, did intermediate study at D. J. Sindh Government Science College in Karachi, and was admitted to the engineering programme at the NED University of Engineering and Technology. He graduated with a B.E. in civil engineering and was a silver medalist on his graduation from the NED.
