Shamim Hanafi
Shamim Hanafi (17 November 1938 – 6 May 2021) was an Indian Urdu critic, dramatist and a proponent of modernist movement in Urdu literature. His books on modernism include ''The Philosophical Foundation of Modernism'' and ''New Poetic Tradition''. He was associated with the Jamia Millia Islamia to the extent of becoming a professor emeritus. Hanafi was an alumnus of the Allahabad University and the Aligarh Muslim University. During his career, he taught at the Aligarh Muslim University and the Jamia Millia Islamia. He wrote dramas such as ''Mitti Ka Bulāwa'' and ''Bāzār Mein Nīnd''. He was conferred with the awards like Jnangarima Manad Alankaran award and Ghalib Award for his contributions towards Urdu literature. Sultanpur is a city situated on the banks of holy river Gomti in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Ashok Vajpeyi
Ashok Vajpeyi ( hi, अशोक वाजपेयी; born 1941) is an Indian Hindi-language poet, essayist, literary-cultural critic, apart from being a noted cultural and arts administrator, and a former civil servant. He was chairman, Lalit Kala Akademi India's National Academy of Arts, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, 2008–2011. He has published over 23 books of poetry, criticism and art, and was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award given by Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, in 1994 for his poetry collection, ''Kahin Nahin Wahin''. Saeed Nafisi
Saeed Nafisi (also Naficy) ( fa, سعید نفیسی; June 8, 1895 – November 13, 1966) was an Iranian scholar, fiction writer and poet. He was a prolific writer in Persian. Nafisi was born in Tehran, where he conducted numerous research projects on Iranian culture, literature and poetry. He first emerged as a serious thinker when he joined Mohammad-Taqi Bahar, Abbas Eqbal Ashtiani, Gholamreza Rashid-Yasemi and Abdolhossein Teymourtash to found one of the first literary magazines to be published in Iran, called Daneshkade, in 1918. He subsequently published many articles on Iran, Persian literary texts and Sufism and his works have been translated into more than 20 languages worldwide. He died in a Russian hospital in Tehran.
