"Stop Calling Me" is a song written by Reno Nicastro, Simone Stacey and Naomi Wenitong, produced by Nicastro for Australian music duo Shakaya's first album, ''Shakaya'' (2002). The song is about relationships, about "boyfriends who keep calling after the relationship is over". It was released as the album's first single on 21 January 2002 as a CD single. It became Shakaya's most successful single in Australia, peaking at number five on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart. Its music video was well received. Simone Stacey
Simone Angela Stacey (born November 1977) is an Australian soul and jazz singer-songwriter. She was a founding mainstay member of girl pop duo, Shakaya, along with Naomi Wenitong, from 2002 to 2006. Soon after Wenitong formed a hip-hop group, The Last Kinection, while Stacey took a hiatus from the music industry. In October 2011 Stacey was featured on The Last Kinection's single, "Are We There Yet?". In April 2013 she auditioned for ''Season 2'' of ''The Voice'' and was eliminated in "Episode 12: The Battles". At the Deadly Awards 2013 Stacey was nominated for Single Release of the Year for "My Pledge" (May 2013), and for Female Artist of the Year. ''Shakaya'' is the first studio album by the Australian duo of the same name, which was released in Australia on 18 October 2002 (see 2002 in music) by Columbia Records. Naomi Sky Wenitong (born 1982) is an Australian singer-songwriter based in Cairns, Queensland. Under the name, Nay, she is a member of hip hop group, The Last Kinection, alongside her older brother, Joel "Weno" Wenitong, and Jacob "DJ Jaytee" Turier. Previously Wenitong was a member of pop girl duo Shakaya (2001–2006) with Simone Stacey. ''Are You Ready'' is the second and the final album by Australian girl duo Shakaya, released on 5 March 2006 by Columbia Records. It was produced by Billy Mann and Christopher Rojas and features urban R&B songs—written by Shakaya themselves and Audius Mtawarira, Daniel O'Donoghue, Ruth-Anne Cunningham and Jonathan Davis. The Last Kinection
The Last Kinection is an Indigenous hip-hop group from Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. The band was formed in 2006 by Joel Wenitong, DJ Jay Tee (both from Local Knowledge) and Naomi Wenitong (Shakaya). The Last Kinection first came to attention with its reworking of the Peter Allen song, "I Still Call Australia Home". Cairns (, ) is a city in Queensland, Australia, on the tropical north east coast of Far North Queensland.
