Shah Iqbal Mujtaba
Rear Admiral Shah Iqbal Mujtaba, ndc, psc, BN (born 1948) is former Chief of Staff for the Bangladesh Navy. Early life Admiral Mujtaba joined the erstwhile Pakistan Navy as an officer cadet on 11 November 1966, and commissioned in the Executive Branch on 1 June 1970. Mujtaba graduated from the Defence Services Command & Staff College Dhaka and from the National Defence College Dhaka in 2001. Besides He attended Senior International Defence Management Course (SIDMC) at US Naval Postgraduate School in 1993 and Legal Aspect of Military & Peacekeeping Operations Course at the US Naval Justice School in 1998. Rear Admiral
Rear admiral is a senior naval flag officer rank, equivalent to a major general and air vice marshal and above that of a commodore and captain, but below that of a vice admiral. It is regarded as a two star "admiral" rank. It is often regarded as a two-star rank with a NATO code of OF-7. The term originated in the days of naval sailing squadrons and can trace its origins to the Royal Navy. Each naval squadron was assigned an admiral as its head, who commanded from the centre vessel and directed the squadron's activities. The admiral would in turn be assisted by a vice admiral, who commanded the lead ships that bore the brunt of a battle. Bangladesh Coast Guard
The Bangladesh Coast Guard ( bn, বাংলাদেশ কোস্ট গার্ড; BCG) is the maritime law enforcement force of Bangladesh. It is a paramilitary force which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Its officers and sailors are transferred from Bangladesh Navy, and most of the medical officers are transferred from Bangladesh Army. The Bangladesh Coast Guard also performs the duty of maritime border security of Bangladesh. The headquarters is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Rear Admiral M Hasan Ali Khan, ndc, psc, BN (died February 19, 2013) was Chief of Staff of the Bangladesh Navy between 2005 and 2007. He was preceded by Rear Admiral Shah Iqbal Mujtaba ndc, psc, BN and succeeded by Vice Admiral Sarwar Jahan Nizam ndu, psc, BN. Early life Khan was born in the hat-laxmipur district of Gaibandha in 1950. He joined as an officer cadet in Pakistan Navy on 9 May 1969. Later he was commissioned into the Executive Branch of Bangladesh Navy in 1972. Admiral Khan graduated from the Defence Services Command & Staff College in Dhaka and National Defence College Dhaka. He also took the degree from United States Pacific Centre for Security Studies Executives course. Naval commands Khan commanded a number of ships and establishments of the navy.
