Seán O'Gorman
Seán O'Gorman (born 26 May 1960) is an Irish former hurler who played as a right corner-back for the Cork senior team. Born in Milford, County Cork, O'Gorman first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team before later joining the under-21 and junior sides. He made his senior debut during the 1879-80 league. O'Gorman immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen and won one All-Ireland medal, two Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, O'Gorman never won a Railway Cup medal. At club level he won several championship medals in all grades with Milford, while he also line dout with divisional side Avondhu. Throughout his career O'Gorman made 16 championship appearances. Cork Junior Hurling Championship
The Cork Junior A Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Co-Op Superstores Cork Junior A Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Cork JAHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking junior clubs in the county of Cork in Ireland. It is the sixth tier overall in the entire Cork hurling championship system and is regarded as one of the toughest club competitions to win. The Cork Junior Championship was introduced in 1895 as a countywide competition for teams deemed not eligible for the senior grade or second-string senior teams. All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship
The All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship was a hurling competition organized by the Gaelic Athletic Association in Ireland. The competition was originally contested by the second teams of the strong counties, and the first teams of the weaker counties. In the years from 1961 to 1973 and from 1997 until now, the strong counties have competed for the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship instead. The competition was then restricted to the weaker counties. The competition was discontinued after 2004 as these counties now compete for the Nicky Rackard Cup instead. From 1974 to 1982, the original format of the competition was abandoned, and the competition was incorporated in Division 3 of the National Hurling League. It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players under the age of 17 in Ireland and has been contested every year - except for a three-year absence during the Emergency - since 1928. The final, currently held on the third Sunday in August, is the culmination of a series of games played during July and August, with the winning team receiving the Irish Press Cup. Pat Hartnett (hurler)
Pat Hartnett (born 1 December 1962) is an Irish hurling selector, coach and former player. His league and championship career with the Cork senior team spanned eleven seasons from 1984 to 1994. Born in Midleton, County Cork, Hartnett first played competitive hurling at St. Colman's College in Fermoy. Here he was a member of the senior team that played in the Harty Cup. Hartnett later lined out with University College Cork, winning a Fitzgibbon Cup medal in 1985. Hartnett first appeared for the Midleton club at juvenile and underage levels, winning county under-21 championship medals. He later joined the club's senior team and won an All-Ireland medal in 1988. Hartnett also won two Munster medals and four county senior championship medals.
