Sex On The Streets
"Sex on the Streets" is a song by British electronic music duo Pizzaman, consisting of John Reid and Norman Cook, and was released in 1995 as the second single from their only album, ''Pizzamania'' (1995). It samples a part of a 1974 sermon by American evangelist Jack van Impe and peaked at number-one on both the UK Dance Singles Chart and the UK Club Chart. In 2011, it was released in the Netherlands in a new mix as "Sex on the Streets 2011". Critical reception In his weekly UK chart commentary, James Masterton wrote, "Yet another dance record, this one at least standing out owing to its use of spoken sections as a hook. It is summery and commercial enough to be more of a hit than this but the prospects look fairly bleak." Pizzaman were a British electronic music duo consisting of John Reid (born 17 December 1963) and Norman Cook (born 16 July 1963). Biography Their debut album, "Pizzamania", was released in 1995. The album spawned three singles (with videos directed by Michael Dominic) all of which reached the top forty on the UK Singles Chart. The highest charting of these was "Happiness" (#19), until " Trippin' on Sunshine" performed slightly better (#18) when it was re-released the following year. Despite this success, however, the only follow-up material was the 1996 single "Hello Honky Tonks (Rock Your Body)". Michael Dominic (born June 18, 1970) is an American filmmaker and photojournalist who grew up in New York City. He is best known for his documentary '' Sunshine Hotel'', which won three awards for best documentary. Early life Dominic was born in Washington D.C., the son of Stephanie and Joseph Dominic. In 1971 his family moved to the Riverdale section of the Bronx, New York. He studied film at School of Visual Arts in New York City from 1990 to 1993. Career Dominic has made several films, most notably the feature-length documentaries ''Sunshine Hotel'' and ''Clean Hands'', and the narrative short "Tulips for Daisy". The Dutch Single Top 100 or Single Top 100 is a Dutch chart, based on official physical single sales, legal downloads and since July 2013 streaming and composed by Dutch Charts. It is one of the three official charts, the other two being the Dutch Top 40 and the Mega Top 30. The difference is that these charts also include airplay data. The Dutch Top 40 ( nl, Nederlandse Top 40) is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Joost den Draaijer initiated the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The show currently airs on Fridays from 2 to 6 PM on Qmusic. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.
