Sevgiliye Son
Turkey took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001. The country was represented by Sedat Yüce with the song "Sevgiliye Son" written by Figen Çakmak, Nurdan Güneri and composed by Semih Güneri. Before Eurovision 24. Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması Türkiye Finali The final took place on 23 February 2001 at the TRT Studios in Ankara, hosted by Ömer Önder and Meltem Ersan. Ten songs competed and the winner was determined by an expert jury. At Eurovision On the night of the contest Sedat Yüce performed 15th in the running order following France and preceding United Kingdom. Sedat Yüce
Sedat Yüce (born 24 May 1976) is a Turkish singer. He represented Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001. He also attempted to participate in ''O Ses Türkiye'', the Turkish version of ''The Voice'', which garnered a negative response. Eurovision He started his Eurovision career as a backing singer for the Turkish national final in 1993. He officially took part as a solo singer on 4 occasions: first in 1996, he took part in the Turkish national final with the song ''Vazgeç'', and finished 3rd; In 1999, this year with the song ''Bırak Beni'', and finished 4th; and in 2001, this year with the song '' Sevgiliye Son'', and won. He later took part in 2005, this year with the song ''Yeniden'', but fell into a tied last place with zero points. Eurovision Song Contest 2001
The Eurovision Song Contest 2001 was the 46th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, following the country's victory at the with the song " Fly on the Wings of Love" by Olsen Brothers. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Danmarks Radio (DR), the contest was held at the Parken Stadium on 12 May 2001. The contest was presented by Danish television presenter Natasja Crone Back and actor Søren Pilmark. Twenty-three countries took part in the contest. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, and Slovenia returned after their relegation from the previous edition. Greece also returned after their two-year absence, following financial trouble. Meanwhile, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, Macedonia, Romania, and Switzerland were relegated. Işın Funda Büyükkaraca (born 7 March 1973), better known as Işın Karaca (), is a British-born Turkish Cypriot pop singer. Personal life Işın Funda Büyükkaraca was born into a Turkish Cypriot family which had emigrated to the United Kingdom. Her mother Şeniz Büyükkaraca is a restaurant owner in Cyprus and her father Ali Büyükkaraca (died 2011) was a real estate agent originally from Afyon, Turkey. She graduated from the London IV King Edward School with a theatre major. Karaca has a son (Erda Kıvanç, born 1993) from her first husband, whom she later divorced. She had an affair for 12 years with arranger-composer Erdem Yörük. Karaca married director and motocross racer Sedat Doğan on 30 May 2011. She gave birth to her daughter Sasha Mia in 2011. Turkey has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 34 times since its debut in 1975. Since the introduction of the semi-finals in , Turkey has only failed to qualify for the final once, in .
