Seventh Heaven (1956 Film)
''Seventh Heaven'' (Swedish: ''Sjunde himlen'') is a 1956 Sweden, Swedish comedy film directed by Hasse Ekman and starring Sickan Carlsson, Ekman and Gunnar Björnstrand.Nordic National Cinemas p.187 It was shot at the Råsunda Studios in Stockholm. The film's sets were designed by the art director P.A. Lundgren. It was followed by a sequel ''Heaven and Pancake'' in 1959. Plot summary Willy Lorens is a successful radio idol with the hit series "Seventh Heaven". But the amount of fan mail and attention eventually becomes too much for Lorens, who suffers a minor collapse. He is taken to hospital where he meets Dr. Lovisa Sundelius, virtually the only woman in Sweden who does not admire the radio idol. In fact she despises him. Since the program still has to air, according to the radio company, Lorens gets a vitamin injection and gets to broadcast the program from his hospital bed. Hasse Ekman
Hasse Ekman (born Hans Gösta Ekman; 10September 191515February 2004) was a Swedish director, actor, writer and Film producer, producer for film director, film, Theatre director, stage and television director, television. Biography Hasse Ekman is probably Sweden's most successful and critically acclaimed film director from the period after Victor Sjöström, Sjöström and Mauritz Stiller, Stiller and prior to Ingmar Bergman, peaking between the mid-1940s and 1950. He was greatly influenced by filmmaker Orson Welles and also by episodic-films. His most successful film as a director is often said to be the 1950 film ''Flicka och hyacinter'' (Girl with Hyacinths), a crime/mystery drama about a young woman committing suicide by hanging herself in her apartment. His 1957 film ''Summer Place Wanted'' was entered into the 1st Moscow International Film Festival.
