Seventh Dagger Records
Seventh Dagger Records is an independent record label releasing primarily hardcore punk, hardcore and metalcore albums. It was founded in 2001 by Daniel "Sober" Trudel and is based in Creedmoor, North Carolina, USA. Formed as a clothing company, Seventh Dagger became popular for its straight edge apparel and "Kill Your Local Drug Dealer" shirts. Seventh Dagger Fest The first annual Seventh Dagger Fest was held on 24 and 25 May 2008 at The Mad Hatter in Covington, Kentucky. The two-day event featured Seventh Dagger bands such as Rhinoceros, Eyes To The Sky, xTyrantx, xAFBx, Birth Of A Hero and The World We Knew as well as other well-known straight edge bands like Thick As Blood and Suicide Pact. Hardcore Punk
Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Its roots can be traced to earlier punk scenes in San Francisco and Punk rock in California, Southern California which arose as a reaction against the still predominant History of the hippie movement, hippie cultural climate of the time. It was also inspired by Washington D.C. and New York City, New York punk rock and early proto-punk. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically use thrash or scream vocals. Some later metalcore bands combine this with clean singing, often during the chorus. Death growls and gang vocals are common. 1990s metalcore bands were inspired by hardcore while later metalcore bands were inspired by melodic death metal bands like At the Gates and In Flames. Creedmoor, North Carolina
Creedmoor is a city in Granville County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 4,124 at the 2010 census. History In 1885, a group of 25 taxpayers of Granville County, including Civil War Confederate veteran Robert Fleming, appeared before the Board of Commissioners for the County of Granville with a petition from the Dutchville Township. The petition made a proposition to subscribe ten thousand dollars to the capital stock of the Oxford and Clarksville Railroad Company. Independent Record Label
An independent record label (or indie label) is a record label that operates without the funding or distribution of major record labels; they are a type of small- to medium-sized enterprise, or SME. The labels and artists are often represented by trade associations in their country or region, which in turn are represented by the international trade body, the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN). East West Records (stylized as east''west'') is a record label formed in 1955, distributed and owned by Warner Music Group, headquartered in London, England. Earth Crisis is an American hardcore punk band from Syracuse, New York, active from 1989 until 2001, reuniting in 2007.
