Seve Van Ass
Severiano "Seve" Boris van Ass (born 10 April 1992) is a Dutch field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for HGC and the Dutch national team. He is the son of Dutch field hockey coach Paul van Ass. He participated at the 2016 Summer Olympics. In June 2019, he was selected in the Netherlands squad for the 2019 EuroHockey Championship and was named the captain for the tournament. They won the bronze medal by defeating Germany 4–0. Club career Van Ass started playing hockey at Victoria, a field hockey club in Rotterdam. In 2008 he switched to HGC, with whom he won the 2010–11 Euro Hockey League. 2019 Men's FIH Pro League
The 2019 Men's FIH Pro League was the first season of the Pro League, the premier men's field hockey national team league series. The tournament started in January 2019 and finished in June 2019 in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Australia defeated Belgium 3–2 in the final to win the first FIH Pro League title. The competition also served as a qualifier for the 2020 Summer Olympics with the four best teams qualifying for the FIH Olympic Qualifiers taking place in October and November 2019. The Royal Dutch Hockey Association ( nl, Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond, KNHB) is the official governing body of Field hockey in the Netherlands. It governs both the indoor and outdoor field hockey leagues, as well as the Netherlands national field hockey team and the Netherlands women's national field hockey team. Paul Van Ass
Paul van Ass (born 16 August 1960, Bergschenhoek) is a Dutch field hockey coach. After coaching for the Dutch club HGC, he became the coach of the national team, managing them at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the men's tournament. After his contract expired in 2014, he was declared the coach of the Indian team in 2015. Career Club career In his first major coaching position, head coach of the men's team of HGC, van Ass managed to save the team from degradation and lead them to a championship final in 2007, which was credited to his "opportunistic" style of coaching. HGC lost that game to HC Bloemendaal. Van Ass's HGC reached the final of the Euro Hockey League 2007–08 after beating HC Rotterdam in the semi-final, but lost to Uhlenhorster HC in overtime. The Men's FIH Hockey World League was an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation. The league also served as a qualifier for the 2014 and 2018 Men's Hockey World Cups and the 2016 Olympic Games. Three seasons were held in 2012–13, 2014–15 and 2016-17. It was replaced by the new Men's FIH Pro League and Hockey Series in 2018-19. Format The tournament featured four rounds. The 2018 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 37th and the last edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy for men. It was held from 23 June to 1 July 2018 in Breda, Netherlands.
