Boo Seung-kwan (; born January 16, 1998), better known mononymously as Seungkwan, is a South Korean singer and entertainer under Pledis Entertainment. He is a member of the South Korean boy group Seventeen and is a member of the Vocal team subunit. He is also part of the special unit BSS alongside Hoshi and DK. Apart from his group's activities, Boo is known as an entertainment figure for his active participation in Korean variety shows such as '' Unexpected Q'', '' Prison Life of Fools'', and '' Idol Dictation Contest''. Early life Boo Seungkwan was born in Busan, South Korea, but raised in Jeju-do, South Korea. Growing up he participated in children's songs festivals held at his school, where a teacher recorded him singing and posted it online. BSS (band)
BSS (, also known as BooSeokSoon or Seventeen BSS) is the first sub-unit of South Korean boy band Seventeen. Formed in 2018, the group is composed of DK, Hoshi, and Seungkwan. They are the recipient of a Grand Prize (Daesang) which they won at the 2023 Asia Artist Awards. Name BSS is an acronym that stands for BooSeokSoon, a portmanteau composed of a syllable from each of the band members' names: "Boo" from Boo Seung-kwan, "Seok" from Lee Seokmin (DK), and "Soon" from Kwon Soonyoung ( Hoshi).
