Seul-ki, also spelled Seul-gi or Sul-ki, is a Korean unisex given name, predominantly feminine. It was the 8th-most popular name for baby girls born in South Korea in 1990. Unlike most Korean names, it does not have any Sino-Korean roots, but is an indigenous Korean language word meaning "wisdom". It is one of a number of such native names (called 고유어 이름) that have been becoming more popular in South Korea in recent decades. Bae Seul-ki ( ko, 배슬기, born September 27, 1986) is a South Korean singer and actress. She made her entertainment debut as a member of The Red, but has since become a solo singer. Career Debut Bae Seul-ki studied Theater and Film at Sangmyong University, then made her entertainment debut in the fall of 2005 as part of the project group The 빨강 (The Red) with actresses Oh Seung-eun and Ju So-young, which allowed her to gain stage experience and fame before her solo debut. Jung Seul-ki (also ''Jeong Seul-gi'', ko, 정슬기; born July 13, 1988) is a South Korean swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. She finished eleventh in the women's 200 m breaststroke at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won a career total of four medals (one gold and three bronze) in a major international competition, spanning the 2006 Pan Pacific Championships, the 2006 Asian Games, and the 2007 Summer Universiade. Jung also served as a varsity member of the swimming team at Yonsei University. Jung made her first South Korean team at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. There, she won two bronze medals each in the 200 m breaststroke, and as a member of the nation's swimming team in the 4×100 m medley. Ahn Seul-ki
Ahn Seul-ki (; ; born 29 May 1992) is a South Korean long-distance runner who competes in the marathon. She represented her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Her personal best for the distance is 2:32:15 hours. Ahn made her first impact at national level at the 2009 Korean National Sports Festival, taking third in the 10K run. Her debut over the marathon came four years later. At age twenty she finished the Daegu Marathon in tenth place with a time of 2:48:57 hours. Later that year she was runner-up in the event at the Korean National Sports Festival. In the 2014 season she set a half marathon best of 77:13 minutes to finish runner-up in Incheon. Sino-Korean vocabulary or Hanja-eo () refers to Korean words of Chinese origin. Sino-Korean vocabulary includes words borrowed directly from Chinese, as well as new Korean words created from Chinese characters, and words borrowed from Sino-Japanese vocabulary. Catherine Seulki Kang (born 25 September 1987) is a South Korean-born naturalized Central African taekwondo practitioner. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Women's 49 kg event. On 8 August, she was defeated in the preliminary round against Lucija Zaninović of Croatia. Personal life Kang was born in Gunsan, Jeonbuk province and resides at Busan in South Korea.
