Setcases
Setcases (; literally meaning "Seven Houses", ''set'' "seven" and ''cases'' "houses") is a municipality and town in the Pyrenean ''comarca'' of Ripollès in Girona, Catalonia, Spain, near the French border. The Ter River is born in the mountains just above Setcases. The current mayor is Jaume Busquets i Bartolí. The name ''Setcases'' has been documented back to 965, from records of some donations made by Count Sunifred of Besalú, one of the Catalan counties, in the nearby monastery of Sant Pere de Camprodon. The church contains a Baroque altarpiece dedicated to Saint Michael, which is the only such example of one in all of the Camprodon Valley. Unlike many other relics, it was saved from being burned by anarchists and communists during the Spanish Civil War.BIRBA, LL. ''La vall de Camprodon.'' 3rd ed. Barcelona, 1989. Ed. Montblanc-Martín (1st ed. 1962 Ed. Selecta) Today, Setcases has most of its economic base in year-round tourism, including hiking in the warmer months ( ...

Municipalities Of Catalonia
Catalonia is (as of 2018) divided into 947 Municipalities of Spain, municipalities. Each municipality typically represents one significant urban settlement, of any size from village to city, with its surrounding land. This is not always the case, though. Many municipalities have merged as a result of rural depopulation or simply for greater efficiency. Some large urban areas, for example Barcelona, consist of more than one municipality, each of which previously held a separate settlement. The Catalan government encourages mergers of very small municipalities; its "Report on the revision of Catalonia's territorial organisation model" (the ""), published in 2000 but not yet implemented, recommends many such mergers. Larger municipalities may sometimes grant the status of ''minor local entity, decentralised municipal entity'' ( ca, EMD, es, EATIM) to one or more of its settlements, for more effective provision of services or to substitute for its previous status as a separate mun ...

Baroque
The Baroque (, ; ) is a style of architecture, music, dance, painting, sculpture, poetry, and other arts that flourished in Europe from the early 17th century until the 1750s. In the territories of the Spanish and Portuguese empires including the Iberian Peninsula it continued, together with new styles, until the first decade of the 19th century. It followed Renaissance art and Mannerism and preceded the Rococo (in the past often referred to as "late Baroque") and Neoclassical styles. It was encouraged by the Catholic Church as a means to counter the simplicity and austerity of Protestant architecture, art, and music, though Lutheran Baroque art developed in parts of Europe as well. The Baroque style used contrast, movement, exuberant detail, deep colour, grandeur, and surprise to achieve a sense of awe. The style began at the start of the 17th century in Rome, then spread rapidly to France, northern Italy, Spain, and Portugal, then to Austria, southern Germany, and Russia. B ...
