Serie B (men's Water Polo)
The Serie B di pallamano maschile is the third division of the Italian water polo male national championship. The tournament involved 40 teams, which are divided into four groups consisting of ten teams. At the end of the regular season the top two teams of each group participating in the stage of the play-off, from which four winners emerge that achieve promotion to Serie A2. The teams ranked in tenth place of each group directly recede and are reached by the teams defeated in the play-out, attended the eighth and ninth classified, for a total of eight relegation to Serie C. The Serie C () is the third-highest division in the Italian football league system after the Serie B and Serie A. The Lega Italiana Calcio Professionistico (Lega Pro) is the governing body that runs the Serie C. Coppa Italia (men's Water Polo)
The men's Coppa Italia is the water polo domestic Cup of Italy. The trophy is organized by FIN and reserved to Serie A1 teams. The first edition took place in 1970 and the most successful club is Pro Recco, winner of the competition for 16 times. History and format The first edition of the trophy was held in 1970 and was won by Canottieri Napoli. Later, Coppa Italia was held discontinuously except for a nine-years streak of back-to-back seasons between 1984–85 and 1992–93. The trophy was resumed regularly starting from 2004–05 season.
