Sergio Álvarez (footballer, Born 1992)
Sergio Álvarez Díaz (born 23 January 1992) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for SD Eibar as a central midfielder. Club career Sporting Gijón Álvarez was born in Avilés, Asturias. A product of Sporting de Gijón's prolific youth academy, Mareo, the 17-year-old made it to the reserves during the 2009–10 season, with the side playing in the Segunda División B. Álvarez made his debut with the main squad on 16 May 2010, starting in a 2–0 away loss against Racing de Santander and thus becoming the second youngest player ever to debut in La Liga for the club, at the age of 18 years and 113 days. However, he lost this record to Juan Muñiz that very match, when the latter entered the pitch in the 46th minute. Sporting De Gijón
Real Sporting de Gijón, S.A.D. (), commonly known as Real Sporting, Sporting Gijón, or simply Sporting (although in an international context this can lead to confusion with Sporting Clube de Portugal) is a Spanish football club from Gijón, Principality of Asturias. Founded on 1 July 1905, it plays in La Liga Santander. Known as ''Los Rojiblancos'' because of their red and white striped jerseys, their home ground is El Molinón stadium, the oldest professional football ground in Spain, in use since at least 1908. Traditionally their red and white shirts are accompanied by blue shorts with the socks recently also being blue. Its Asturian name is ''Real Sporting de Xixón''. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. The 2015–16 Sporting de Gijón season was the 41st season that the club will play in La Liga, the first after the promotion from Segunda División in the last season. Season overview In its return to La Liga three years later, Sporting continued sanctioned due to a delay in payments to players during the previous season. Sporting was only allowed to sign on loan three under-23 players. Sporting started the season earning a point against Real Madrid. The club did not win its first game until the fourth round, when it defeated Deportivo La Coruña by 2–3 at Estadio Riazor with two goals of Antonio Sanabria and one of Álex Menéndez.
