Sergejs Kožans
Sergejs Kožans (born 16 February 1986) is a Latvian former football defender, who played as a defender. He is currently first-team coach at Riga. Club career As a youth player Kožans played for JFC Skonto, making his professional debut in 2005. He spent 4 years playing for Skonto Riga in the Latvian Higher League, all in all making 51 appearances and scoring 5 goals. In 2009, alongside his team-mate Ivans Lukjanovs, Kožans joined the Polish Ekstraklasa side Lechia Gdańsk. In his first season with Lechia Kožans played 18 matches and scored 1 goal. All in all he spent three seasons in the Ekstraklasa, playing 42 matches and scoring 1 goal. On 24 May 2012 it was announced that Kožans would leave the club. He became an unrestricted free agent, and on 13 October 2012 joined the Belarusian Premier League club Shakhtyor Soligorsk, signing a contract until the end of the season. The Latvia national football team ( lv, Latvijas futbola izlase) represents Latvia in international football and is controlled by the Latvian Football Federation, the governing body for football in Latvia. The 2012 Belarusian Premier League was the 22nd season of top-tier football in Belarus. It began on 24 March 2012 and ended on 25 November 2012. BATE Borisov were the defending champions, having won their 8th league title last year. Teams Dnepr Mogilev were relegated to the Belarusian First League after finishing the 2011 season in last place, leaving the league for the first time since the competition's establishment in 1992. They were replaced by 2011 First League champions Slavia Mozyr, who make their return to the league after a five-year absence. Vitebsk, as the 11th-placed team, had to compete in the relegation/promotion playoffs against First League runners-up Partizan Minsk. The Belarusian Premier League or the Vyšejšaja Liha or the Vysheyshaya Liga ( be, Вышэйшая ліга, russian: Высшая лига, "Top League") is the top division of professional football in Belarus, and is organized by the Belarusian Football Federation. The number of teams in the competition has varied over the years from as high as 17 (1992–93 season) to as low as 11 (2012). As of 2016, the league included 16 teams. Each team plays every other team twice during the course of the season. At the end of the season, the two teams with the fewest points are automatically relegated to the Belarusian First League, while the third worst team plays a promotion-relegation playoff against the third best team from the second tier. Poland Ekstraklasa (), meaning "Extra Class" in Polish, named PKO Ekstraklasa since the 2019–20 season due to its sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is the top Polish professional league for men's association football teams. Contested by 18 clubs, operating a system of promotion and relegation with the I liga, seasons start in July, and end in May or June the following year. Teams play a total of 34 games each. Ivans Lukjanovs (born 24 January 1987) is a retired Latvian footballer, who played as a winger. Club career Lukjanovs was born in Daugavpils, Latvian SSR, Soviet Union. As a youth player he played for JFC Skonto, making his first first-team appearance in 2006. That season he played 2 matches, scoring no goals. In November 2006 Lukjanovs and his team-mate Oļegs Laizāns went on a training camp together with the Italian giants Lazio, but didn't stay with the club. His further career led through loans to another club from Riga Olimps/RFS and two Lithuanian clubs. He played 10 matches and scored 2 goals for Olimps/RFS in 2008. During his time in Lithuania Lukjanovs played 12 matches, scoring 1 goal for FK Šiauliai and 12 matches, scoring 5 goals for FK Sūduva. In 2009 Lukjanovs returned to the Latvian Higher League side Skonto FC and managed to score 14 goals in 15 matches.
