Serge Reid
Serge Reid (born c. 1963) is a Canadian curler from Jonquière, Quebec. Reid is the defending provincial champion skip for Quebec. He and his team of François Gionest, Simon Collin and Steeve Villeneuve won their first provincial championship in 2010. This qualified them for the 2010 Tim Hortons Brier, where they were an unknown team to many of the other competitors. However, they won five of their eleven games, a respectable finish. As of 2014, Reid has played in 16 provincial championships. Reid has won four World Curling Tour events to date. In 2004 he won both the Charlevoix Casino Classic and the Coupe Saguenay de Curling. He won the Coupe Saguenay again in 2005. In 2010 he won the Challenge Casino Lac Leamy. After the 2010-11 curling season ended, Reid's team announced in a tweet that Pierre Charette Pierre G. Jonquière
Jonquière (; ; 2021 population: 60,250) is a borough (arrondissement) of the city of Saguenay in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada. It is located on the Saguenay River, near the borough of Chicoutimi. History Jonquière was founded in 1847 by Marguerite Belley, who came from La Malbaie to settle on the Rivière aux Sables. It was named after Jacques-Pierre de Taffanel de la Jonquière, Marquis de la Jonquière, governor of New France from 1749 to 1752. Growth came from the construction of pulp and paper mills at the beginning of the 20th century. Between 1925 and 1928, the world's largest aluminum plant was built along with the city Arvida (then a separate town). Pierre G. "The Duffer" Charette (born June 23, 1955) is a Canadian curler from Ottawa, Ontario. He currently coaches the Silvana Tirinzoni rink Career Born in Masson, Quebec, Charette has played in thirteen Briers, and was the first curler to have played every position (including alternate) at a Brier. He skipped teams in 1989, 1993 and 2007; played third for Guy Hemmings in 1998 and 1999, played second for Don Westphal in 1997, played lead for Westphal in 1996 and was the alternate for Kevin Adams in 1991, Ted Butler in 1992 and Jean-Michel Ménard in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. Charette's best performance at the Brier was the two years he played for Hemmings, where they lost in the Brier final on both occasions. Challenge Casino Lac Leamy
The Challenge de Curling de Gatineau (formerly the Challenge Chateau Cartier de Gatineau and the Challenge Casino Lac Leamy) is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, on the World Curling Tour. It is held annually in late October in the City of Gatineau, Quebec. The men's tournament was started in 2009, while the women's tournament was started in 2011, but discontinued after 2013. Beginning in 2011, the event shifted venues to the Centre Sportif Robert Rochon in Masson, Quebec in the Masson-Angers sector of the city and the Buckingham Curling Club in the Buckingham sector.
