Serge Muhmenthaler
Serge Muhmenthaler (born 20 May 1953) is a Swiss former professional association football, football player and Referee (association football), referee. He played as a forward (association football), forward during the 1970s and 1980s. As referee he is known for having refereed a Swiss Cup Final, a UEFA Europa League, UEFA Cup Final and one match in the UEFA Euro 1996. Career as player Muhmenthaler was brought up in Grenchen and started his football with the youth teams of the local football club FC Grenchen. He also played in their first team in the Swiss Challenge League, Nationalliga B and they won promotion to the Swiss Super League, Nationalliga A in the 1970–71 season. The team also won the Uhrencup that year and Muhmenthaler scored the first goal in the final, as they beat FC Basel 3–1. Grenchen (french: Granges) is a municipality in the district of Lebern in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland. A tear of a meniscus is a rupturing of one or more of the fibrocartilage strips in the knee called menisci. When doctors and patients refer to "torn cartilage" in the knee, they actually may be referring to an injury to a meniscus at the top of one of the tibiae. Menisci can be torn during innocuous activities such as walking or squatting. They can also be torn by traumatic force encountered in sports or other forms of physical exertion. The traumatic action is most often a twisting movement at the knee while the leg is bent. In older adults, the meniscus can be damaged following prolonged 'wear and tear'. FC Aarau
FC Aarau is a Swiss football club based in Aarau. They play in the Swiss Challenge League, the second tier of Swiss football after being relegated from Swiss Super League. History FC Aarau was formed on 26 May 1902 by workers from a local brewery. The early days of the club were a success and they won the Swiss championship in 1911–12 and then again in 1913–14. Coppa delle Alpi (translated as ''Cup of the Alps'') was a friendly football tournament, first organized by the Italian national league as it started in 1960 and then they were aided by the Swiss League from 1962, for the reason that the majority of the Alps are in Switzerland.
