Serbian Red Cross
The Red Cross of Serbia ( sr, Црвени крст Србије, Crveni krst Srbije) is a humanitarian, non-governmental organisation that provides humanitarian aid, disaster relief and education in Serbia. It is the national affiliate of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. It was founded on 6 February 1876 by Vladan Đorđević, a prominent Serbian physician and politician. Metropolitan Mihailo, its first president, held the office from its fledgling beginnings in 1876 until 1883. Vladan Đorđević
Ipokrat "Vladan" Đorđević (, sr-Cyrl, Владан Ђорђевић, 21 November 1844 – 31 August 1930) was a Serbian politician, diplomat, physician, prolific writer, and organizer of the State Sanitary Service. He held the post of mayor of Belgrade, Minister of Education, Prime Minister of Serbia, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Envoy to Athens and Istanbul. Early life Ipokrat Đorđević (Ипократ Ђорђевић) was born in Belgrade, the son of pharmacist Đorđe Đorđević and Marija (née Leko). He was of partial Aromanian descent from the region of Macedonia. Stevan Zdravković (Zivica, Principality of Serbia, 16 April 1835 - Belgrade, Kingdom of Serbia, 4 August 1900) was a Serbian general, professor and chief of the Serbian Military Academy in Belgrade, Minister of Public Works and State Adviser Zdravković was also a regular member of the Committee for Natural and Mathematical Sciences since 24 January 1871 and the Committee for the Dissemination of Science and Literature to the People since 1883; Secretary of the Committee for Natural and Mathematical Sciences (1881–1883); and honorary member since November 15, 1892.He also served as the 6th Dean of the Academic Board of the Military Academy in Serbia from 1880 to 1887. Dragutin Franasović ( sr-cyr, Драгутин Франасовић), was a Serbian army general and politician who held the post of Minister of Defence and Minister of Foreign Affairs. In 1899 he succeeded General Stevan Zdravković as president of The Red Cross of Serbia, a post he held until the beginning of the Great War when Milos Borisavljevic took over.
