Serbia And Montenegro In The Eurovision Song Contest
The State Union of Serbia and Montenegro participated in the Eurovision Song Contest twice: in and in . Their debut appearance was a success, with the song "Lane moje" performed by Željko Joksimović finishing second. The following year, they placed seventh, courtesy of the band No Name with the song "Zauvijek moja". Following the 2006 Montenegrin independence referendum, and have participated in the contest as separate entities, making their independent debuts in 2007. Eurovision Song Contest 1992
The Eurovision Song Contest 1992 was the 37th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Malmö, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "" by Carola. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (SVT), the contest was held at the Malmö Isstadion on 9 May 1992 and was hosted by Swedish journalists Lydia Capolicchio and Harald Treutiger. The Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was the 53rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Belgrade, Serbia, following the country's victory at the with the song "Molitva" by Marija Šerifović. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), the contest was held at the Belgrade Arena, and (for the first time) consisted of two semi-finals on 20 and 22 May, and a final on 24 May 2008. Forty-three countries participated in the contest, the highest ever number of participants in the contest beating the record of forty-two set the year before. Marija Šerifović ( sr-cyr, Марија Шерифовић, ; born 14 November 1984) is a Serbian singer. Born in Kragujevac as the daughter of Verica Šerifović, she rose to prominence in 2003 with her debut album ''Naj, Najbolja''. Šerifović is arguably best known for representing Serbia and winning at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with "Molitva". Stevan Faddy ( cnr, Стеван Фeди, Stevan Fedi; born 2 September 1986, in Kotor) is a Montenegrin musician. He took part in Montevizija 2005, with "Utjeha". He also participated in Sunčane Skale 2003 singing "Poslednja obala". On 25 February 2007, he won a landslide victory in MontenegroSong 2007 with his song " Ajde Kroči" and won a ticket to represent Montenegro in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 held in Helsinki, Finland. An independence referendum was held in Montenegro on 21 May 2006.
