Seol Young-woo (; born 5 December 1998) is a South Korean professional footballer who plays as a full-back for Serbian SuperLiga club Red Star Belgrade and the South Korea national team. Club career Ulsan HD FC Born in Ulsan, Seol started playing football at hometown team Ulsan Hyundai since childhood. After attending university for a while, he played for the senior team of Ulsan Hyundai since 2020. He contributed to Ulsan's two K League 1 titles in 2022 and 2023. On 1 October 2024, he was nominated for the AFC Player of the Year for 2023 by helping his club and national team reach the semi-finals of the 2023–24 AFC Champions League and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, respectively, in addition to the league title. The K League 1 (Hangul: K리그1) is the men's top professional football division of the South Korean football league system. The league is contested by twelve clubs. History The South Korean professional football league was founded in 1983 as the "Korean Super League", with five member clubs. The initial five clubs were Hallelujah FC, Yukong Elephants, Pohang Steelworks, Daewoo Royals, Kookmin Bank. Hallelujah FC won the inaugural title, finishing one point ahead of Daewoo Royals to lift the crown. 2020 K League 1
The 2020 K League 1 was the 38th season of the top division of professional football in South Korea since its establishment in 1983 as K League, and the third season under its current name, the K League 1. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors were the defending champions. They successfully defended their title and won a record-breaking eight K League championship. The regular season was scheduled to begin on 29 February and to end on 4 October, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The K League 1 season officially began on 8 May. Cho Gue-sung (; ; born 25 January 1998) is a South Korean footballer who plays as forward for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and the South Korea national team. Club career Cho played as a defensive midfielder during his youth career and his freshman year at Gwangju University. However, Cho wasn't evaluated as a good midfielder by his university's manager Lee Seung-won, and changed his role to a striker in 2017.
