Sentry (Kree)
Sentry is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in July 1967. It is one of series of giant humanoid robots called Kree Sentries built by the Kree. The Sentry has also appeared in animated adaptations. Publication history The Kree Sentries first appeared in ''Fantastic Four'' #64 (July 1967) and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Fictional character biography Sentry-459 The Sentries' main purpose is to stand guard over military outposts and depots throughout the Kree Empire. Sentry-459 accompanied a Kree scientific party that journeyed to Earth to experiment on sub-humans (which in turn created the race the Inhumans). When the Kree left Earth, Sentry-459 remained to monitor Inhuman progress, so that the Kree could later use them as a militia force. Sentry Foods
Sentry Foods is a grocery store chain with a total of 11 stores, all in Wisconsin. Sentry Foods stores got their start in the Milwaukee area in the 1960s, being operated and supplied by the Godfrey family. In the mid-1980s, Fleming Companies, Inc., at the time a major wholesaler, bought the majority of the stores and took over supplying them. Being predominantly a wholesaler, Fleming was never a major force in the retail market, and as a result of missteps and poor financial choices, Fleming went bankrupt in 2000 and was forced to sell off the stores. Each store is now independently owned and operated. As recently as 2007, 34 stores were operated under the Sentry name, but the chain was decimated by the Great Recession The Great Recession was a period of marked general decline, i.e. a recession, observed in national economies globally that occurred from late 2007 into 2009. SentrySafe is a brand of safes manufactured in Rochester, New York. It is owned by the Master Lock Company. It markets safes designed for home, business, and gun storage. In addition to security, SentrySafe includes a range of Underwriters Laboratories (UL)-rated safes to protect valuables from both fire and water. History In 1930, John Brush, Sr. and his brother-in-law, Willard Punnett, opened a small shop for the manufacture of safes at 545 West Avenue in Rochester, New York. The Brush-Punnett Company was a pioneer in the stamping (metalworking) of steel safes. During a long and arduous startup period that spanned the Great Depression and World War II, the company had some success by selling safes to Vassar College for its dormitories and steel skids to Eastman Kodak.
