''The Big News'' is the evening television news program of ABC 5. It was the first evening news program on Philippine television. It aired from March 19, 1962, to September 22, 1972. After the reopening of ABC 5 in 1992, Originally anchored by Eric Eloriaga, Tina Monzon-Palma and Kathy Tanco-Ong, the program was revived on February 21, 1992, and continued to air the show conclude on August 8, 2008. Cherie Mercado and Amelyn Veloso serves as the final anchors. It was replaced by '' TEN: The Evening News'' in August 11, 2008. Jose Ruperto Martin Marfori Andanar (born August 21, 1974) is a Filipino television news personality, news anchor, radio commentator, podcaster, and voice-over artist. He served as the secretary of the Presidential Communications Office of the Philippines under the Duterte administration. Andanar was the head of News5 Everywhere, the online news video and audio portal of TV5, anchored '' Andar ng mga Balita'' on TV5, Radyo5 92.3 News FM and One PH, sister stations of TV5. He was also a voice-over talent of News5, AksyonTV, and Radyo5 92.3 News FM. TV5 (also known as 5 and formerly known as ABC) is a Philippine free-to-air television network based in Mandaluyong, with its alternate studios located in Novaliches, Quezon City. It is the flagship property of TV5 Network, Inc. with Cignal TV as its main content provider, both owned by MediaQuest Holdings, the multimedia arm of Philippine-based telecommunications company PLDT.
