Sendo Z100
Sendo Z100 is a Tri-band phone by Sendo, designed in 2002 and never launched as Sendo sued Microsoft. Background After Microsoft bought shares of Sendo, they started together to develop the new devices operating system called Stinger. Microsoft and Sendo showed a first prototype at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes in February 2001. The Sendo Z100 was the first prototype implementation of the renamed operating system Smartphone 2002 presented at the CeBIT 2002. Because the phone was multiple times announced and shunted to new release dates, Sendo canceled the phone in November 2002. Although Sendo didn't give an official reason for cancelling the launch of the Z100, the company had been promised an exclusive by Microsoft, however, Microsoft had also approached HTC to make a competing device which was launched by Orange in the UK as the Orange SPV in November 2002. Sendo
Sendo was a British manufacturer and supplier of mobile phones founded in 1998 and based in Birmingham. The company went into administration in June 2005 and its technology was bought by Motorola. The company specialised in low-cost handsets aimed primarily at the pay-as-you-go markets and also high-end Symbian smartphones. History Sendo was created in 1998 by mobile phone experts from Philips and Motorola. In February 2001, Microsoft announced a partnership, in which Microsoft bought $12m of Sendo shares (10%) and a seat on the board. Internet Explorer Mobile (formerly named Pocket Internet Explorer; later called IE Mobile) is a mobile version of Internet Explorer developed by Microsoft, based on versions of the MSHTML (Trident) layout engine. IE Mobile comes loaded by default with Windows Phone and Windows CE. Later versions of Internet Explorer Mobile (since Windows Phone 8) are based on the desktop version of Internet Explorer. Series 60 Platform
The S60 Platform (formerly Series 60 User Interface) was a software platform for smartphones that runs on top of the Symbian operating system. It was created by Nokia based on the 'Pearl' user interface from Symbian Ltd. It was introduced at COMDEX in November 2001 and first shipped with the Nokia 7650 smartphone. The platform has since seen 5 updated editions. Series 60 was renamed to ''S60'' in November 2005. In 2008, the Symbian Foundation was formed to consolidate all the assets of different Symbian platforms (S60, UIQ, MOAP), making it open source. CeBIT was the largest and most internationally representative computer expo. The trade fair was held each year on the Hanover fairground, the world's largest fairground, in Hanover, Germany. In its day, it was considered a barometer of current trends and a measure of the state of the art in information technology. It was organized by Deutsche Messe AG. SyncML (Synchronization Markup Language) is the former name for a platform-independent information synchronization standard.
