Selvær
Selvær is an island and fishing village in the municipality of Træna in Nordland county, Norway. It is located about northeast of the main island of Husøya and about west of the island of Nesøya. The 70 or so residents on the island make their living by fishing or fishing-related fields. Historically, there was also some farming done on the island. The only access to Selvær is by a public ferry from Husøya or by personal boats. There are about 55 residents on the island. Husøya
Husøya is a small island and the administrative centre of Træna Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located just east of the island of Sanna in the Trænfjorden, about northwest of the island of Lovund (in neighboring Lurøy Municipality) and about south of Selvær. The Træna Lighthouse lies south of the island. The island is only accessible by boat, and there is regular ferry service from Husøya to the island of Selvær and to Stokkvågen on the mainland. A fishing village is a village, usually located near a fishing ground, with an economy based on catching fish and harvesting seafood. The continents and islands around the world have coastlines totalling around 356,000 kilometres (221,000 mi). Nesøya is an island in Nordland county, Norway. The island is located on the border of the municipalities of Rødøy and Lurøylies to the west of the island Storselsøya. The tall Nordfjellet mountain is the highest point on the island. The Arctic Circle passes just south of the island. Fishing is the activity of trying to catch fish. Fish are often caught as wildlife from the natural environment, but may also be caught from stocked bodies of water such as ponds, canals, park wetlands and reservoirs.
