Selbusjø
Selbusjø or Selbusjøen is the 17th largest lake in Norway. It is located in Trøndelag county, primarily in the municipality of Selbu, although the western end of it lies in the neighboring municipality of Trondheim. The lake is the largest lake in the southern part of Trøndelag county. Selbusjø is part of the Nea-Nidelv watershed, with the Nea River flowing into it on the eastern end and the Nidelva River flowing out the western end. The deepest part of the lake reaches below the surface. Selbu is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Mebonden. Other villages in Selbu include Flora, Fossan, Hyttbakken, Innbygda, Selbustrand, Trøa, Tømra, and Vikvarvet. The municipality is the 86th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Selbu is the 200th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 4,090. The municipality's population density is and its population has increased by 1.2% over the previous 10-year period. General information The municipality (originally the parish) of Selbu was established on 1 January 1838 (see Formannskapsdistrikt law). On 1 January 1901, the eastern part of the municipality was separated to form the new municipality of Tydal. This left Selbu with 4,607 inhabitants. Nidelva is a river in Trondheim Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The name of the long river translates to "the River Nid" since the suffix ''elva'' or ''elven'' is the Norwegian language, Norwegian word for "the river". Nea-Nidelvvassdraget is a watercourse in the municipalities of Tydal, Selbu, and Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. The total area of the watershed is and it runs for about from the source in the Sylan mountains to its mouth in Trondheimsfjorden. Trondheim Energiverk has fourteen power stations along the water course which are highly regulated, with a total production (in 2004) of .
