Seen is a district in the Swiss city of Winterthur. It is district number 3. The district comprises the quarters Waser, Büelwiesen, Waldegg, Ganzenbühl, Sonnenberg, Ricketwil, Oberseen, Gotzenwil, Eidberg, Iberg and Sennhof. Seen was formerly a municipality of its own, but was incorporated into Winterthur in 1922. S11 (ZVV)
The S11 is a regional railway line of the S-Bahn Zürich on the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV), Zürich transportation network. The S11 is one of the network's lines connecting the cantons of Zürich and Aargau. Route * Line S11 commences at Aarau station, in the canton of Aargau. It follows the Heitersberg line as far as Killwangen-Spreitenbach station, and then the Baden to Zürich line as far as Dietikon station and the approaches to Zürich Hauptbahnhof station. Passing through the lower level platforms at this station, the line then passes through the Hirschengraben and Zürichberg tunnels, and Stettbach station, before joining the Zürich to Winterthur line. The S11 follows this line as far as Winterthur Hauptbahnhof station, running non-stop between Stettbach and Winterthur. Winterthur Seen railway station (german: Bahnhof Winterthur Seen) is a railway station that serves Seen, which is district number 3 in Winterthur, a city in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland. It forms part of the Tösstalbahn section between Winterthur Grüze and Bauma. Location Situated at the north eastern edge of central Seen, the station borders the quarter of Sonnenberg, on the other side of the tracks. History The station was opened on 4 May 1875, together with the rest of the first section of the Tösstalbahn, between Grüze and Bauma. One year later, the line was extended to Wald.
