Seda Aznavour
Seda "Patricia" Aznavour (born Seda Aznavourian, hy, Սեդա Ազնավուրյան, link=no, ; May 21, 1947) is a French-Armenian singer and artist, the daughter of Charles Aznavour. She studied at the Armenian Virgins College of Paris, at Jan-Luciere and Matie Alter musical schools. She started her musical career in the 1960s, as a radio and TV singer, then released "Rien Que Nous" album (with ''David Alexandre Winter''). She recorded the "Safo" (1970) movie songtrack (written by Georges Garvarentz), played in several French films. In the 1960s she moved to the United States, where in 1980 she gave a concert tour with Lucy Saroyan. Charles Aznavour
Charles Aznavour ( , ; born Shahnour Vaghinag Aznavourian, hy, Շահնուր Վաղինակ Ազնավուրեան, ; 22 May 1924 – 1 October 2018) was a French-Armenian singer, lyricist, actor and diplomat. Aznavour was known for his distinctive vibrato tenor voice: clear and ringing in its upper reaches, with gravelly and profound low notes. In a career as a composer, singer and songwriter, spanning over 70 years, he recorded more than 1,200 songs interpreted in 9 languages. Moreover, he wrote or co-wrote more than 1,000 songs for himself and others. Aznavour is regarded as one of the greatest songwriters in the history of music and an icon of 20th-century pop culture. One of France's most popular and enduring singers, he was dubbed France's Frank Sinatra, while music critic Stephen Holden described Aznavour as a "French pop deity". Georges Garvarentz
Georges Diran Garvarentz ( hy, Ժորժ Տիրան Կառվարենց, 1 April 1932 - 19 March 1993) was an Armenian- French composer, noted for his music for films and Charles Aznavour's songs. Biography Georges Garvarentz was born in Athens, Greece, to a family of Armenian immigrants. His father, literature professor and poet Kevork Garvarentz, was the author of the Armenian military anthem. In 1942 Garvarentz's family moved to Paris, France, where Georges attended Conservatoire de Paris. Career In 1956 Georges met Charles Aznavour and started writing music for his songs. Lucy Saroyan
Lucy Saroyan (January 17, 1946 – April 11, 2003) was an American actress and photographer. Life and career Saroyan was born in San Francisco, California, the daughter of the writer William Saroyan and the actress Carol Grace. Her brother is writer Aram Saroyan. Lucy attended the Dalton School in New York, her mother's alma mater, where Carol solidified her lifelong friendships with Gloria Vanderbilt and Oona O'Neill. She spent her adolescent summers at a horse camp in Montana. Following her parents' second divorce, her mother married the actor Walter Matthau and Lucy later worked alongside her stepfather in a number of his films. She also played small parts on Broadway, off-Broadway, and on TV, in addition to working as a film library archivist. Sayat-Nova (Armenian: Սայեաթ-Նովայ ( сlassical), Սայաթ-Նովա (reformed); ka, საიათნოვა; ; ; born Harutyun Sayatyan; 14 June 1712 – 22 September 1795) was an Armenian poet, musician and ''ashugh'', who had compositions in a number of languages. Name The name Sayat-Nova has been given several interpretations. One version reads the name as "Lord of Song" (from Arabic ''sayyid'' and Persian ''nava'') or "King of Songs".
