''Sector 7'' ( ko, 7광구) is a 2011 South Korean 3D and monster horror-science fiction action film directed by Kim Ji-hoon who previously made ''May 18''. In 2012 Shout! Factory released the film on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and Blu-ray 3D. Plot A small team of oil rig workers are searching for undiscovered oil at the oil rig Sector 7, off the coast of Jeju Island. After the tension builds from countless failures, the main character Hae-joon's uncle returns with the hope of searching the untapped wells of oil. What they don't realize is that he has a much different motive. Working together with a researcher on board the rig, he plans to breed a newly discovered life-form whose bodily fluids can burn for longer than 30 hours, as a new form of fuel instead of oil. But tragedy strikes as the specimen escapes with deaths of the researcher, the doctor, and another worker to follow. Kim Ji-hoon (director)
Kim Ji-hoon (born 1971), also spelled Kim Ji-hun, is a South Korean film director. Life and career Kim Ji-hoon was born in Daegu. After graduating from Hanyang University's Theater and Film Art Department, he worked as an assistant director on a number of films. He made his feature directorial debut in 2004 with the film ''Mokpo, Gangster's Paradise'', starring Cha In-pyo and Cho Jae-hyun. His 2007 film ''May 18 (film), May 18'', about the Gwangju Massacre of 1980 and which starred Kim Sang-kyung, Lee Yo-won and Lee Joon-gi, earned him the Best Director award at the 2008 Korea Movie Star Awards. He went on to direct ''Sector 7 (film), Sector 7'', a 2011 action/horror film about a sea monster which attacked oil platforms, with an ensemble cast led by Ha Ji-won and Ahn Sung-ki. Cha Ye-ryun (born Park Hyun-ho on July 16, 1985) is a South Korean actress. A graduate of Sangmyung High School, she began acting in 2005 at the age of 20, when she had a supporting role in the horror film ''Voice''. IMAX is a proprietary system of high-resolution cameras, film formats, film projectors, and theaters known for having very large screens with a tall aspect ratio (approximately either 1.43:1 or 1.90:1) and steep stadium seating. Graeme Ferguson, Roman Kroitor, Robert Kerr, and William C.
